    I agree the piece doesn't spell it out, but I gather that leaned on him not to testify or maybe he is too scared to rock the boat himself or he might even have been paid off. Who knows? Maybe something will still turn up to explain, but it doesn't look good that that the JD was so afraid of what his answerers to simple, straightforward question that didn't want them entered into the public record.
