  • Politicizing Justice

From Paul Krugman's column on March 9, 2007

"Donald Shields and John Cragan, two professors of communication, have compiled a database of investigations and/or indictments of candidates and elected officials by U.S. attorneys since the Bush administration came to power. Of the 375 cases they identified, 10 involved independents, 67 involved Republicans, and 298 involved Democrats. The main source of this partisan tilt was a huge disparity in investigations of local politicians, in which Democrats were seven times as likely as Republicans to face Justice Department scrutiny."

  • Again, the only way to defend the Republicans is to lie about what they've done.

    Oh, and to blame Clinton.

Why even bother? Even as a Republican, surely you could find a productive way to live your life if you put some effort into it.

  • Diversion from impeachment level Bushco scandals

I agree with "adam" on page 2 of these letters. The media are giving far too much space and attention to an issue that, while ethically unacceptable, is not a crime when all is said and done.

It's certainly worth noting the attorney firing as a mini-scandal, but not at the cost of knocking the Libby guilty verdict, the wretched conditions at Walter Reed, and the irrefutably impeachable actions of Bushco clean off the front pages.

  • The third question to ask:

If you were the one fired, what would you be thinking?

  • 4th question:

Why not just take down your boss, The Shrub, with you when you go??
