Hypocricy as a Moral Code
Elsewhere in the interview, Gingrich says he doesn't believe in "situational ethics."
Or any other ethics, apparently.
-
He believes in something
He believes he'll have yet another wife, I'm sure.
-
I think there's a TT thread Newt should visit...
"I drew a line in my mind..." Isn't that conveeeeeenient.
Come on over to Right Wing Moral Cripples, Newt.
-
What a hero...
...he pursued it "even at the risk of personal embarrassment." Spoken like a true rightwinger (i.e., out of one side of his mouth).
It's been a whole six years since his last affair/divorce/next-marriage. Sounds like he's due for another.
-
Never mind that Gingrich cheating...
I want to get a look at the woman, or women, who would actually get naked with that old, fat, no-butt, beer-belly, sleazy-looking piece of crap, all the while they know he's cheating on his wife.
And they say that men are perverts? Sweet Jesus, I've done a lot of freaky shit in my time, but who ever these women are, their appetite for crazy sex must be out of this world.
Where can I meet them?
-
At this point, it's like saying that the Statue of Liberty is green....
I remember thinking at the time that it was funny that Gingrich Khan was saying about the Lewinsky mess that "we should wait until all the facts are in." I thought that was surprisingly circumspect for him, and wondered why he was suddenly throttling back.
But what I really want to know is why Poppy Bush joined the Clintonites in saying that Secret Service agents must NOT be compelled to testify about what they saw the president doing and with whom. Remember the stories about Poppy and that State Department lady sharing a chalet in Switzerland during the SALT talks? My point is not so much that "that's scandalous" as that what Clinton did was not scandalous, just tacky. And if tackiness was grounds for impreachment.....
-
"Neuter Gingrich!" was more appropriate than we realized
Too bad Larry Flynt didn't get the goods on Newt when he was "outing" Republican adulterers back in the '90s.
Republican motto: Personal responsibility is for suckers.
-
DeLayed and Newtered
God bless this Third World Banana Republic.
As they say "In God We Trust" and when King George Speaks, remember "In George we Trust" the "Commender of Cheap": Knight to Bishop 3.
"Checkmate"; "Hell NO" George has that Benito VETO.
-
Actually, he did, Nancy Ott
That's why Newt resigned.
-
folks he didnt resign
He was pushed out....it was the result of a coup headed by rep. tom paxton and put into the press by sand hume (bretts boy) of the hill. for more info about this amazing story...(paxton soon resigned too and hume committed suicide, google it...or just ask Arianna...she wrote about it and guess what ...they kiucked her outta the club too.
-
Yes, Gingrich resigned, but WHY?
Conventional wisdom (which has yet to be disproved) is that the newly re-elected Gingrich declined to take his House seat and actually resigned from Congress because the GOP lost seats in the 1998 election. The blame was given to Gingrich and his impeachment vendetta against Bill Clinton.
There may have been some ripples due to what was then known or suspected about Gingrich's personal behavior, but his hypocrisy wasn't fully recognized at the time and played little evident role in his resignation.
-
Hold it right there...
I want to get a look at the woman, or women, who would actually get naked with that old, fat, no-butt, beer-belly, sleazy-looking piece of crap....
I resemble that remark!
And I, too, wonder where they are....
-
It wasn't about sex, it was about lying... ABOUT SEX
"you cannot accept ... perjury in your highest officials."
and by "purjury" he means "purjury regarding adultery".
Because in a country where sex gets an 'X' rating, and violence gets and 'R', no one cares if you lie about, oh I don't know, starting an unecessary, and illogical war that leads to the slaghter of hundreds of thousands of people.
Orgasms, however, that's where conservatives draw the line! As George Carlin would say, "thou shalt not kill" is sort of negotiable... it depends on who's doing the killing and who's being killed.
"Thou shalt not comit adultery," now THAT'S unexceptable (at least if you are a Democrat).

Gingrich
The Libby trial shed light on the incestuous relationship between the Media and the Republican machine showing us that sanctimonious media big shots knew all along that Plame had been outed by the White house. They all had received the same calls from Libby and/or Rove. In the vein, perhaps someone should ask Tim Russert et al if they know about this prior to the impeachment mess and why didn't they talk about it as they trashed Clinton, from day one.
-
On lying about sex:
Actually, the Republican code is "Thou shalt not admit adultery!"
Besides, lying about sex seems to constitute a great deal of it.
-
I Concur
With Clinton. Oral is not sex.
-
Not Only That, Wes
But the whole "lying" thing Clinton has been accused of all these years is complete bullshit. THEY DIDN'T ASK HIM IF HE RECEIVED FELLATIO.
-
It's really funny...
So Gingrich "drew a line in" his mind.
And of course, it isn't about the sex. Goodness no. It's about the lying. How many times was that line trodded out? Come on! Of course it was about the sex. You could sell the story about the sex. You couldn't sell it about the lying otherwise. The public never would've bought this whole thing if it was just "about the lie". If it was about the lying, then the stained dress, the cigar, the whole damned charade would NEVER HAVE TAKEN PLACE PUBLICLY! And he KNOWS it!
So yeah. How about this? It's not about the war. It's about the lying. It's not about Katrina. It's about the lying. It's not about the Warrentless Wiretaps, the firing of prosecutors, the installation of cronies, the persecution of democrats, the manipulation of intelligence, the hyping of Iran and North Korea, the corrupt mismangement of our government: It's about the lying. And what did Mr. Bush lie about?
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

What say you now, trolls?

Clinton Is My Role Model
And I really like the guy. But he pissed me off on the blue dress thing. He should have gone forward with the DNA tests, and when they said it was one in 100 million or whatever that it wasn't him he should have said--I don't know what to tell you, I'm the one in a hundred million.
