For what it's worth...
here's one vote for the Barbara Lee plan.
-
umm...you're back to work, but
Isn't this the sort of thing that should be hammered out in closed door sessions among the party to determine the best and most practical plan for withdrawal, and then presented as a unified strategy to bring the troops home?
All having competeing stragegies does is give the GOP more grounds to say the Democrats don't have a plan.
Letting everybody just willy nilly throw out their own ideas just feeds into the notion that the Democratic party is filled with a bunch of wild ducks running around making a lot of noise, but with no clear leader or direction.
Come on Nancy! Crack the Whip! Use your position! Get your party to fall in line and present a unified face. Doing anything else is a disservice to the party and the American People.

I disagree. I'd rather hear the Democrats debate a variety of plans and options. It shows a breath of thought and consideration for a very vital decision. None of them are recommending an open ended continuation of this disaster. Let them hash out various ideas and come up with a well thought out solution.
You know, that's alot better than "Support the troops, stay the course."

Name that Retreat
I'll abandon Iraq in...
1 year!
10 months!
6 months and cut funding!
YOU abandon Iraq.
dems are great.
-
abandoning Iraq
You can't actually abandon Iraq if you've never been there, joe. What is your real name anyway? I guess if I was one of these guys that beats the war drum from the safety of my sofa like you I would use a fake name too...
-
Rusty
Joe is my real name. Do you live in Austin? I do. And I'd be happy to talk about this from out behind the computer.
-
Hey, Joey,
retreat, by any definition, assumes that there must have been at some point an advance. Bush retreated from the war on terror the minute he took that left at Tora Bora.
-
Hey stevey...
you're wrong.
