"We're not being defensive."
That really says it all, doesn't it?
-
We pre-heard it?
We pre-heard it? What does that mean? Why does this administration get away with making up words?
-
Snow: " what exactly do you mean, "flexible diplomatically"
Apparenty these two words have never aligned themselves within the Bush vocabulary. I guess Tony was taken aback by the logic, if not, the sense that they make. You kow, like, "Compassionate Conservative"...
-
Suprise, Suprise
Well, well, yet another flip-flop from this administration.
Thought I'm sure we'll see the drive-by, liberal media manage to distort this one - if they even report it.
-
Ah..Tony Snow.
Dance, Tony. Dance.
If you watch carefully, you can see the synapses in his brain misfire from the cognitive dissonance.

Nathan Thurm Lives!
This whole exchange appears to be an homage of an old SNL sketch. An excerpt:
Mike Wallace: No, I wish I were, but.. we saw your people making pirate Mickman schnozzes.
Nathan Thurm: [shakes head] I don't know what you're talking about. [smiles] It's funny that you would say that! They don't make schnozzes. They make semiconductors for a very reputable computer company. What's wrong with that? Is there something wrong with that? Why, why, why is that something wrong to do? I don't understnad that. Why are you pointing the finger at other people all the time? Why don't you point the finger at yourself? Do a little more reading, maybe? Some time in court - maybe that would be effective for you!
Mike Wallace: Pardon me for saying this, but you seem defensive.
Nathan Thurm: I'm not being defensive! You're the one who's being defensive! Why is it always the other person who's being defensive? Have you ever asked yourself that? Why don't you ask yourself that?

Words
"I don't know how to get you to get it through your heads..."
He couldn't have said it better. Every word he puts out is carefully crafted to compel the reporter to frame his article in a certain manner and supporting a certain agenda. These words are literally crafted like advertising copy to stick in the reporters "head" for future retrieval when writing articles. For a long time this word smithing has worked and the lazy press has simply regurgitated the propaganda.
If, for example, the word mismanaged is used consistently with reference to the war, then failure of the war becomes characterized as something that can be corrected with a change of management or change of management tactics. "Management" is not a military term. It should not be used in reference to the status of a conflict.
Unfortunately for the administration, the wordplay is ending and the press is coloring outside the lines with words of their own.

Snow Job
All lies all the time. Bush's War has left 78 more dead Americans in Iraq in February. LIe that one away, Tony Blow, formerly of fuxxsnooze.
-
Spin Control!
When you spin around and around, you get real dizzy and fall over. Then everyone laughs. I clearly remember that from when I was 5 years old. Some things never change.
-
Desparation
That is the perfect description of the situation in and around the White House, right Mr. Snowjob?
-
Pre-heard?
Forget wading through the rest of the BS. As soon as someone uses a non-word like "pre-heard", I lose interest in the conversation. If they can't state it plainly in real english, it's a lie they're trying to spin.

Flip Flop
If the Democrats had suddenly decided to change course and sit down and talk with a former 'enemy', say Iran, the Republicans would be all over them with cries of flip-flop.
When the Republicans do a flip flop on Iran and North Korea and sit down with them, why is it no longer rewarding bad behavior? The Dems should be charging flip flop here.
The Dems don't seem to have a taste for hardball politics.
