Judicial accountability?

Questionable to say the least in the case of Bush appointments. What is $ 4400 to get the job? Tough luck, Santorum is out, maybe some Sanity has returned.

Respect

I am repeating myself, but maybe not in this forum.

What the Republicans have done since the time of Saint Ronnie, and with a fervor in the past dozen years, is to take my old grey lady of blind justice, with her blindfold and scales, and dress her up in the whore's clothes of partisan politics.

What is offensive is not just that they have stuffed the federal bench with partisan hacks; what is offensive is that, in order to find hacks that agree with them, they have hammered through the appointment of stupid judges and justices. The collective IQ of the federal bench has probably dropped 30 points in the last quarter-century.

If we start today, which is far from a given, it will take a generation for the federal bench to regain the respect of the nation.

Silverback66

you said it and extremely well.

I would only remind all that Bush has two more years to put bottom of the barrel cronies into judgeships and may God help America at the damage Bush and his Republicans can and will do since they have all that sanctimonius support of the religious right, white southern Baptists and Catholics, my church of which I am ashamed, with their religious bigotry and hypocracy.

I enjoyed the lengthy interviews of Justice Breyer and retired Justice O'Connor, just another Texas gal as if our entire country isn't already fed up with Texass and it's effluvia(DeLay,Cornyn,Barton et.al.ad nauseam)and the oil companies.

Well back to my point, that these two justices were lamenting the fact that they were both feeling put upon by the anger in America at our judicial system. Well you two justices have only yourselves to blame as it was you who put your friend Bush in office so you get what you deserve when you let the criminals, Bush/Republicans and Republican voters) out of their cages and now we are all paying the price and so you must as well.

Since you are just recently getting around to mention the fact that it is the religious right who are threatening you and so many other judges all over America they are the very criminals you let out of their cages to wreak havoc and destruction on all of us and the entire world.

Please be aware you two(Breyer and O'Connor) their reign of destruction is not over by a long shot. Just how are you going to stop the Catholic Church, my church, and the damage it is doing to american policy, both foreign and domestic.

You have danced with the devil and he now owns you, but the worst is that the devil of religious bigotry, hypocracy, hate and intolerance now owns us all.
