  • Rush

Rush is an idiot, a blowhard, and a waste of good medecine.

  • Limbaugh's kindergarten moment

Here's a question for Rush. When did Iraq come to us and ask us to fix everything? When has any Middle Eastern country come to us and asked us to "fix" the Middle East.

I know that the administration is now trying to be indignant about the whole Iraq War fiasco....with Bush claiming he's not "happy" with Iraq, as though he is merely supervising their own inept and self-initiated attempts at fostering "freedom". And the rest of the neocons voicing annoyance and displeasure that the Iraqi's and their "government" aren't stepping up to the plate. Is it possible they have all forgotten how this mess began? Is it possible that they think going on the offensive will distract anyone from the role they have played and the responsibility they bear?.

And now the worst. A childish tirade more appropriate for a five-year-old than the man with whom this administration chooses to align itself. It's not just Rush. It's symptomatic of the petulant, "because I say so", and what's-reason-got-to-do-with-it culture of incompetence and action for the quick leg up. It wasn't a "slam dunk", it wasn't "mission accomplished". So they need to shut up or try to exhibit some intelligence and interest in addressing this problem on a level more befitting a world power, and less indicative of what we should have expected from a lazy, over-indulged, intellectually-challenged career loser.

Sorry...but as long as the right shelters people who can be as ridiculous as Rush Limbaugh, it's not over 'til it's over, even inspite of November 7. He's spouting the party line regarding the lack of respect for diplomacy, he just took it down to juice-box level.

  • You know...

Our intervention in the Middle East has been ineffective at best, and could be viewed, especially given Iraq, as throwing more dry wood on an already huge stack of it. So what have we gained by intervening? Access to oil, perhaps, but that's always tenuous. The world may be better off with us stepping aside; the U.S. hegemony is over anyway, Bush has seen to that. Perhaps Europe can solve the problems we've been unable to. Maybe China wants to involve itself - they need the oil just as much as we do. Maybe it's time for the U.S. to accept that no empire lasts forever, and be one of the first to graciously step aside rather than be forced to.

Bush and his backers like Rush Limbaugh have so overstepped our role, that it may be better for us and everyone involved if we do step aside. Kudos to Rush for being the first conservative to acknowledge the end of the American Century. Maybe we can make some mature, responsible foreign policy decisions now, in this new multi-polar world.

  • Thanks, Rush

Rush Limbaugh: Working hard for more Democratic victories in '08

  • See how they whine now?

I'm having a blast these days. It's like Christmas morning every day when I listen to the right wing gas bags bellowing and whining "we give up!" Boo hoo hoo.

Yes, they tried so hard to bring peace, democracy and the American way to these ignorant, hateful savages and all the Democrats did was put banana peels in their path every step of the way, not to mention that those ungrateful wretches in the Middle East just don't get it!

Well, Mr. Bluster is mad now. It's time to show those treacherous ingrates what life is like without our benevolent helping hand! We'll just pull right out of there and let the whole place go to hell. Ha! That'll teach 'em!

They'll come crawling back to us one of these days. Yeah. And when they do, we won't be so nice to them next time.

  • Ok discount Rush the fool

And ignore for the moment the fact that the Oxy snorting, suitcase full of Viagra on his way to man boy love junkets in Belize is paid to say whatever insane partisan thing that pops into his drug addled paresis riddled head. The reasonable thing to conclude though is that even if you feel bad we backed over the pooch in Iraq, we and no one else can ever really fix it at this point. We can sit around and wring our hands and wish we could, we could feel noble and guilty about it and flush more money down the crapper and sacrifice more men and women for no clear purpose, we could do a lot things but none of that will make any difference. If we learn anything from all of our own comparisons to Vietnam it's that sticking around just to make a noble show of our higher intent is silly, cynical and tragic. So maybe yes, let it all go down in flames. Let Iraq devolve into whatever happens to every other Arab state in the last 100 years that suddenly found itself with no brutal dictator to crush them.

  • Yes, Rush, we'll mark 'compassion' and 'peacemaking' as 'deprecated'

Rush, what ever happended to 'blessed are the peacemakers'?

Oh, you just reminded me - it must have been chucked out pretty much the same way love and compassion was marked deprecated, I guess.

  • Rush and his Listeners: Ignorant

People who listen to Rush Limbaugh actually want to believe that conducting a war and making foreign policy decisions are simple enough that any high school graduate with common sense could make sound judgements on these issues. It makes idiots like George Bush electable. The common folk begin to think, "Hell, I'm smart enough to be president too."

Then when uneducated right-wing leaders that Rush supports make decisions that significantly impact our country negatively, he provides his listeners with lesson two: scapegoating.

His followers have swallowed every scoop of shit he has fed them thus far and repeated it verbatum to anyone who would listen because they- via Rush- are now foreign policy experts. To the degree any of the listeners begin to think to themselves, "Wait a minute...I think Rush is really over simplifying shit to the point of insanity....everything he has advocated has turned to shit...I think he is just full of shit all together" they start to remember all the people they spouted the same shit to as though it were fact and they were intelligent.

Then they go into full defense mode. They've decided they are going to back this stuff come hell or high water. The country may go to complete hell, but at least they will not look stupid (in their minds I guess).
