Who knew that an olive branch could have so many thorns?

The letters thread is now closed.

A , "thinking George Bush"...

Oxymoron # 2,000,000 since the 2000 coup.

Bush and Bipartisanship

OK, I'll go for the easy meat; why is it whenever Sonny takes a stab at bipartisanship, so far it's always been in the back?

A question about all of these "no birth control!" guys:

One of the many many questions I wish the Washington press corps had the balls to ask would be for them to ask Mr. Keroack if he was a virgin until he was married. Ask what fraternity he belonged to in college, and look up some of his classmates.

Of course, this would be a question ranking way down there in importance compared to expecting the Washington press corps to ask a few questions about the 2001 terror warnings, the lack of body armor and victory planning in Iraq, or the ties between Cheney's oil task force and the seizure of Iraqi oil fields.

Family Planning, Etc.

I will bet that this man does not have an enjoyable sex life.

bi-partisanship

with Bush is like going hunting with Dick Cheney.

Friday, November 17, 2006 07:24 AM

wow, grandaddy bush would be pissed.

It shows how much the Bush family has changed since Prescott's days as a board member of Planned Parenthood. Sometimes I wonder how a liberal Republican could have such a conservative brood.

The Sex Lives of Wingnuts

Anybody remember Kentucky's own David Hager? The Usurper's choice to head the committee on women's health? The ob-gyn who refused to prescribe contraceptives to single women? The one whose wife exposed him as a closet case who anally raped her then claimed he hit the wrong hole?

For guys whose idea of sex is anal rape and fellatio, then contraceptives are irrelevant, and thus demeaning to a female who doesn't need them.

Marketing contraception doesn't demean women ...

Assuming that we're too stupid to make decisions about our own bodies does!

Friday, November 17, 2006 07:50 AM

she

That woman demeans women, as do all those like her.

Friday, November 17, 2006 07:51 AM

oops

for some reason, i thought it was a woman on first read.

men who attempt to opine about women's rights issues tend to come off looking like fools to the educated and intelligent among us.

Abortions vs Illegal Immigration

Ahhh the Bushie answer to the Mo Panel’s

report linking abortion to illegal immigration.

“Republican-led legislative panel says in a new

report on illegal immigration that abortion is

partly to blame because it is causing a shortage

of American workers.”

Less abortions and more crop pickers - YIKES!

These people are scary and strange.

What political capital is he burning now?

He's acting as if the Republicans won the elections... I guess he really didn't have a plan for how to handle a loss!

Either that, or he may realize that his fate is sealed as the worst president in U.S. history -- so he might as well try to continue to do as much damage as possible, while he still can.

Onward Christian Soldiers

The Christian right has already drawn their line in the sand. They want their asses kissed big time or there will be hell to pay in the 2008 elections. Bush will spend his remaining time in office kissing their asses. He's certainly not going to address Iraq in any meaningful way.

I think the public as a whole is finally becoming tired of these Christian fascust bullies and they are strating to be marginalized. Bush and whatever Republicans who chose to cater to their extreme whims will find them selves further and further removed from mainstream America. Michael Jordan, Maddonna, Fonzie...they all had their moment and then outworn their welcome. The christian right's shelf life is starting to expire.

Make him 'splain his plans in hearings

Since his appointment is not subject to advice and consent, simply bring him in after he's been in the job a few weeks and make him explain his plans to the House. Henry Waxman would have a grand time with him!

Cheers.

BUSH Family Plnning just GUNS and BOMBS

CIA GATES "GO TEAM GO" Kill em all NO FAMILY PLANNING NEEDED

Friday, November 17, 2006 10:41 AM

And the alternative is?

So he's against abortion and contraceptives. Does that mean the Family Planning Council will be handing out free coathangers?

Contraceptives

I bought condoms before my wife got her pills in the 1960s. Three children were enough and our sexlife did not suffer at all and continued to the present. How did the presidential couple manage to have only one pair of twins? Poor George.

LIFE DEMEANS WOMEN

like shouting 'fire' too many times in a packed theatre, feminists have predictably overused the term 'demeaning' over the years in every instance they felt held women from doing as they please.

To the extent that the other team has comically picked up the meme and trumpets it as some sort of salve for all women to relish.

Don't cha know? It is demeaning to all women for these things to even be discussed in public.

Heck, I am demeaning myself even responding to this article.

Just a thought ...

I'm probably as wrong about this as anything else that occurs to me but ...

Is it possible that Dubya is going to pull out all the stops on unpalatable right-wingnut proposals and nominations to molify Christianists who are disappointed with his Administration's failure to pursue Christianist goals, and that he feels free to do so because he knows the MFP (Democrats) will vote them down?

Response to Modeler

Modeler muses, "How did the presidential couple manage to have only one pair of twins? Poor George."

Wayne Madsen might have a suggestion (see http://www.waynemadsenreport.com/2006_09170928.php), but I haven't lived a good enough life for Madsen's answer to prove true.

Amazing

Reading the War Room over here in Norway, Europe, is like reading a science-fiction humoristic dystopia: "Victory of the Flat-Earthers" or "Age of the Creationists" or something. What the f&%k is wrong with these people? Just say No?
