paul the only people being unfair
are those denying rights to someone because of their sexuality -
and history will remember them and you (not that anyons going to remember you - dont get me wrong) as evil bigots going after gays because blacks are off limits to you know
fair,
i almost split my sides laughing - whats fair? i think that would be being forced to blow a very very large penis for eternity - that would be fair!

Criminal charges?
This dude just admitted on camera to the criminal purchase and possession of a particularly demonized illicit drug. Will he be hauled in for questioning and charges?
Asked and answered, I guess.
I suppose he'll be running off to "rehab" shortly.

The "Methinks Thou Dost Protest Too Much" School of Rightwingnut Evangelical Conservative Politics
Well, at least we now know why "gay marriage" and "the homosexual agenda" are right up there at the top of the list of issues of concern to Rightwingnut Evangelical Conservatives...

hypocrites, all!
What bugs me is the absolute hypocrisy and shadenfreude of all the people here. Everyone--and I mean everyone--is a sinner, myself included. Everyone is a hypocrite. Say you love your fellow man? Then why did you have dark thoughts about the guy who was so slow in the Starbucks line? Never lie? Then why did you keep that extra nickel the store clerk accidentally returned to you, or why did you not declare all your income on taxes? Pick your own pious hypocrisy.
One verse of the Bible that is frequently misused is where Jesus says, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged" (Matthew 7:1). But everyone forgets to include what follows: "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you" (7:2).
You accuse Haggard of being a hypocrite? God will surely judge you on all your own hypocrisy. A liar? Ditto.
I'm not going to judge Haggard, and neither should you. What happened is between him and God. God already knows the truth anyway. Unfortunately, so many people are unaware of the truth that they are sinners every bit as egregious as Haggard. They're just fortunate enough not to have it trumpeted across the Internet.
Everyone examine his own heart before jumping on this bandwagon.

Puh-leeeeze!
Can anyone imagine what the right wing would make of Haggard's "confession" if it came from the mouth of a prominent champion of left-wing causes?
Well, as luck would have it, we don't have to imagine. Remember this gem?
"When I was in England, I experimented with marijuana a time or two, and I didn't like it. I didn't inhale and never tried it again."
Even Clinton's supporters didn't buy that one.
What I can't figure out (and I'm a child of a Southern fundamentalist household) is why these guys so publicly and virulently attack gays, meth users and non-meth users alike, when their own homosexual desires are so strong. Am I the only person who, from inside fundamentalism, couldn't help but wonder why a god who hated homosexuality so bitterly would create the irresistible desire for it in so many of those who desperately want to follow him? And if not, am I the only person who drew what seems to me to be the logical conclusion: that whoever or whatever god is, the fundamentalist version just ain't it?
As pleased as I am to have yet another high-profile example of how bogus this brand of Christianity is, I can't help but feel sorrow for Ted Haggard. I know what it feels like to simultaneously believe in the hateful, bitter, angry God of the Old Testament and yet overpoweringly desire sex with members of my own gender. I know how agonizing it is to rack your brains for years trying to figure out why God would do such a thing to a person. I know what it feels like to be secretly gay when you're 13 years old and wonder what I could possibly have done to have God's greatest curse pronounced on me.
So Ted, wherever you are, I know you can't see the truth of this now but being outed is the best thing that has ever happened to you. You never have to throw up an anti-gay smokescreen (and yours was a lulu!) again. You now have complete freedom to evaluate the idea of God that has plagued you for so long and recognize its hollow emptiness. You have been given a golden opportunity to shake the dust of the hate-filled world of Christian fundamentalism off your feet and finally, truly, walk in the brilliant light of truth.
Please, please - don't blow it.

tossing out the meth....
Is this the evangelical equivalent to not inhaling? Next he'll say he bought it and threw it out so someone else couldn't buy it to use.
-
a
Thanks for judging everyone as hypocrites.
Hypocritical much?
PS: Use your "between him and God" philosophy where it will do some good -- like with innnocent, loving people who want people like you and Ted Haggard to leave them alone.

He made his lifestyle choices
That's what you get for going against nature and choosing the Christian Conservative lifestyle.

"I'm not going to judge Haggard, and neither should you."
Speak for yourself. I'M judging him. He's made a fortune judging people and deomonizing people and fostering hatred. You bet I'll judge him. He's a liar and a hypocrite and he tried to gain power and fortune at my expense. Judgement passed. Deal with it.

Maybe It's Just Me, But . . . .
Maybe it's just me, but I think I could have come up with a more believable story than I bought crack from a male prostitute, got a massage from him, but didn't have sex with him.
Why couldn't he at least have had the same degree of integrity that Mayor Marion Barry had when he honesty declared, "The bitch set me up!" I think I would have had more respect for the good reverend if he had said something more along those lines.
-
Is this Haggard's defense?
Who hasn't had a gay Meth massage occasionally?
-
Breaking News: Haggard makes Baby Jesus cry.
Now hold on... what good Christian man hasn't mailed $200 cash to a gay male prostitute to line up meth for him while massaging his prostate? I mean, c'mon you traitorous liberal bloggers! Who's with me.. Rush? Imus? Um... hello guys?
Obligatory joke in poor taste (ptewwy!) aside, I really have to wonder why Evangelical churches of Christianity in America don't start policing their own? WTF? They should have been doing this since they all swallowed the Ralph Reid koolaid on anti-gambling, while giving him money to help casinos. WAKE UP, NOW!!
The larger hypocrisy here is that this is exactly what we are asking of the honest Muslims abroad: "Congregations, kick out your lying leaders that subvert the message of peace and submission to God into violence while funneling charity money to terrorists that kill innocent Muslim women and babies. Not to mention innocent Westerners."
You really cannot have it two different ways. And, dammit, in America I think we SHOULD be setting the example.
