You may have served, as an enlisted man, with no distinction. You are truly demonstrating your limited intellectual capacity by your comments. Additionally, it would be easy for me to lower myself and truly kick your ass. That would not present too much of a challenge.

The subtitle for this story is wrong

"As Kerry tries to put the story behind him, Clinton helps the GOP keep it alive"

It should read:

"As Kerry tried to keep the story alive, Clinton helped to squash it."

Clinton said:

"We don't need to be reciting the 2004 election, as much as President Bush would like that to happen. This election is about him and his policies." Clinton also said, "I believe we can't let it divert us from looking at the issues that are at stake in our country. We need a new policy in Iraq."

Spoken like the true politician she is. It's about winning on November 7th. Period. If you don't want a determined, strategic leader then don't support Senator Clinton on November 7th, or in the primary (should she decide to try for the Dem nomination) or in the general election if she wins the primary. Focus on someone else. But you only hurt the party by calling her a supporter of terrorism and other vile things. And she is, by the way, an excellent senator with an impressive record and a proven ability to sway Republicans to vote Democratic.

This is my second comment posted on this "story". Tim Grieve, if he isn't ashamed (and he should be) is probably getting quite the laugh over this Hillary hatefest. He is certainly lacking in the honesty department. And he chose a convenient target, like the coward he is.

response to truthseeker

"Now, she backs terror and abandons John Kerry. It is a sad day for liberals when our leaders lose their bearings so completely that they are left to simply twist in the wind as the conservatives blast by us on their way to destroy this great country (and possibly the world)."

Hillary does NOT back terror. Get your damned facts straight. You sound like George Bush! And she did not abandon John Kerry anymore than any of the other Dems who said his remark was inappropriate. This is nothing more than a forum to attack Hillary Clinton. She's done more to help get Dems elected on November 7th than all other Democratic leaders put together. Enough with the Hillary bashing, unless you can back up your ridiculous accusations with proof.

November 7th is a 3-pronged referenda, plus Hillary is an opportunist

November 7th's elections come down to three referenda: a referendum on the gullibility of the American people; a referendum on whether the United States will wage endless war; and a referendum on whether the United States' Constitution will effectively be repealed.

And what does the Bush gang do to distract the public? It shamelessly spins John Kerry's botched joke into a referendum on John Kerry -- and he isn't even on the ballot!

Also, Hillary Clinton just lost me for good and forever -- she could have kept her mouth shut. Better, she could have been a "uniter" and said that Kerry's gaffe was unfortunate, but let's focus on the real issue, which is Bush and his botched War of Choice on Iraq.

If the Repugs maintain control of the House and the Senate next week, it will not be because of John Kerry's inability to tell a joke. It will be because the American people don't realize that their country has been lead to the point of no return by a bunch of lunatics.

Where's the outrage over Harold Ford's contribution to this mess?

Can someone make...

Kerry and Hillary both go away, far away? Both are gaffe-prone, bellwether opportunitists. Neither are what grassroots liberal-progressives want in the Oval Office, governing this country from a compassionate, insightful perspective.

They are, collectively this week, the October surprises we didn't need or want.

we can probably all agree..

that Kerry would have been better-off not even trying to make that particular lame joke at Bush's expense. Even had he delivered his alleged witticism exactly as originally planned, it still would have been lame..and, yes, maybe even inappropriate.

To blow the line the way he did, was definitely inappropriate, at the least...even if the blown-line was true in some sense. Tom Leykis devoted a whole hour to this tempest on his show yesterday and it was a real eye-opener. Leykis maintains, probably rightly, that in his "botched joke" Kerry said what many people are thinking, and not just brie-eating liberals.

So, after reading all the posts here, and checking the facts a bit more, I'm inclined to give Hillary the benefit of the doubt. I still think she's a hack and an opportunist and I think she'll go down to an embarrassing defeat at the hands of John McCain in 2008, but this latest alleged sin of hers isn't much to write home about.

The other candidates who criticized Kerry's mistake, by the way, are mostly running close, tough campaigns, they need to distance themselves from that kind of stupidity. Clinton didn't.

The GOP's little fiesta over his botched comment is the epitome of hypocrisy though, and not even worth commenting on really

I've always guessed that Hillary is just praying McCain is not the GOP nominee in 2008, and they nominate some hack who's even more annoyingly mercenary than she is. That would be the opening she needs to make a legitimate run for the Presidency. For her, it's worth the gamble.

Or, McCain blows it somewhere along the line in his campaign. Could happen.

Whatever the case, if the Dems take the house next week, it's gonna be a VERY interesting two years. The War Room will be getting a LOT of mail, I'd think.
