Timing
Wow. Has John Kerry finally grown a pair? If so, why did he wait until two years after it could do anyone any good?
-
About time
This is a great repsponse by Kerry. Given his reaction, along with Clinton's response to Chris Wallace, it actually appears that Dems ARE fighting back. Love it.
-
Seriously?
I had to read it twice to make sure Kerry's remarks weren't a War Room parody.
OK, now I'm starting to think that the dems might actually pull it off this time, Diebold be damned. If Kerry, of all the mealy-mouthed DINOs, actually said this, anything is possible.
-
Nope
I've watched the total footage of Kerry speaking on YouTube, not just read the carefully selected dry words on the page/screen. No, it's clear from the full context that Kerry was telling the students to work hard in college so that they don't wind up in the military.
Also, Kerry's response is highy ironic considering that we now know that Bush had a higher GPA at Yale than Kerry and higher SAT scores.
Sorry, John, but you lied about us after Vietnam, and you've now slandered us. The Dems will pay once again for your arrogance.

Memo to Kerry
John:
Keep it short, keep it concise and on message. Don’t drift or split hairs. If you spend more than 40 seconds on this, you've said too much. One maybe two zingers, bumper sticker sort of stuff. This should be a slam dunk.
Oh, and nice to see you found a pair 28 months too late.
-
hypocrisy of the highest sort
"If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy"
Yeah, John, so why did you slander us all after Vietnam with your phony "Winter Soldier" scam that has been proved a huge lie? You were a liar then, and you're a liar now.
If you were true to your word, you would have criticized JFK for getting us into Vietnam and LBJ for making such a hash of it. Nope, not a word.
-
Wow --
I wish Kerry had stuck up for himself like that during the election in 2004. If he had, he might have won. And that despicable Swift Boat group would have been shown up for the liars and cowards they were.
-
Compare this lie about Kerry with Snow's lie about Cheney and waterboarding...
Anyone with a grain of sense knows EXACTLY who and what Kerry was referring to -- and the who/what is Bush & his cadre of incompetent neocon advisors.
Reflect now on Tony Snow's incredibly lame attempt to claim that Cheney's approval of "dunking" in NO WAY meant he endorsed waterboarding of terrorism suspects. Oh, really?
In my 50 plus years on this earth, I've never seen such a pathological aversion to the truth as with this President, his advisors and his supporters. The comparison to language manipulation in Orwell's "1984" is usually invoked at this point, so it may appear to be a cliche (how does one type an "e" with an accent here, anyway?) -- but this is no cliche.
Language means what Bush and his people SAY it means. Any similarity to definitions as printed in Websters Dictionary, or to normal ways to parse sentences, is purely coincidental.

Slime
How come red staters are such idiots? Bush and company
are liars and cowards. Bush should prove he's a man and go to Iraq. Scumbag. If you support Bush, you are a traitor to all American values. At some point it became a bad idea in 1930s Germany to respect "the other" point of view. That time has come in the US. I am disowning Republican aquaintances.

You go, boy!!
Dayyum, Johnny! Tell us how you really feel!
These are the kind of gloves-off fighting words I've waited so, so long to hear from some Democrat, any Democrat. We suffer from a surfeit of limp-wristed opposition leaders in America today, men and women who are so scared of the Republican attack machine that they tiptoe around it like it was an atom bomb. Well, lily livers, it's about time somebody recognized what any half-decent football coach (or Rush Limbaugh) has long known: the best defense is a good offense. When the rightwing slander corps gets nasty, get nasty back instead of plaintively bleating "I didn't mean that at all!" while compulsively wringing your hands. Democrats need to get out there, go on the attack and call a big tool a big tool.
Sic 'em, Johnny!!
-
another yale grad, another idiot
though i agree with some of the thoughts here about fighting back, the comment itself makes no sense and invites these kinds fo attacks. there is a pretty clear distinction between criticizing shrub and telling an audience that all their hard work will be for naught if they decide the join the armed forces and serve in Iraq.
it was a stupid thing to say and now he's forced to spin it which brings him full circle to kerry 2004. he is a shadow hanging over the democrats and everytime he opens his mouth, it will serve to console those who voted for bush last time around.
enough of these yale grads!

John Kerry's Courage(?)
John Kerry is praised by bloggers here for finally 'finding a pair' because he won't take it from the right on his "go to college and be smart or go get stuck in Iraq' comments. It isn't courageous to ignore what was said and attack those who quote you accurately and damn you by your own words. John Kerry.com has an attack on the 'attackers' but nowhere will you find the quote of what he said. That's a defense? If you attack me for something I said, and you are lying, and there is video of what I actually said....wouldn't I play the video or copy the transcript? Yes I would. So would you. Not John Kerry. He not only won't repeat what he said, he won't concede he said it. There is no additional context, by the way, which re-shapes this. Not an earth-shattering miscue as far as I'm concerned but why bury yourself by denying the reality of what you said?

LOL! NeoCon Chickenhawks With High SAT Scores
Are invited to sign up for Iraq.
No? Then John Kerry speaks the truth.
