After considering this reported outburst by Rep. Cubin against Mr. Rankin, a man with M.S. who is wheelchair-bound, I think I'm detecting a strange and disturbing trend here among worried Republicans.
Just yesterday, we learned of the revolting Rush Limbaugh's comments disparaging Michael J. Fox's political ad, accusing Mr. Fox of deliberately over-doing his Parkinson's Disease symptoms for dramatic or emotional effect.
Throw your minds back, if you will, to the even more revolting Ann Coulter's slander against triple amputee Max Cleland during the 2004 presidential campaign -- she implied that he used, abused and generally seemed to enjoy the fact that he'd lost his limbs during Viet Nam war.
Absolutely revolting, lower than low and worthy of complete and utter condemnation.
Hi Folks,
This is the same Barbara Cubin that examines other Congressional members' "packages", and bakes cookies of same to hand out to them.
One thing that the American public needs to understand is that these people act crazy because they ARE crazy.
That's what is so scary. It's not just the notion that they make up and fuel the chattering class-- it's that anyone rational could take them seriously at all.
Warmongering, corruption, cronyism, hypocrisy, neglect, bigotry, pederasty ... and now threatening the disabled. The bar is now mere inches above the floor, but somehow they manage to slide under it. How low can they go?
This would have been the proper time to say, "Bring it on, sister!" baiting her into slapping you.
Maybe then she could have gone and punched shit out of that pussy Max Cleland.
The republicans themselves have not changed; it's just that their "morality" facade has fallen and revealed whom they have been all along. And while their naked viciousness may turn off Independents, it won't bother their core voters any more than it ever has.
Don't believe any poll that shows republican support below 30 percent. That 30 percent is so dead-solid loyal that nothing - up to and including george bush personally performing an abortion on their 12-year-old daughter in front of their very eyes - will ever shake it.
The fix is in, and the only democratic wins will be landslides too big to change. All races with less than 10-point spreads will go to republicans.
She's consistently voted against medical marijuana in Congress.
Surveys of MS patients in Britain and Canada have found about 15% of MS patients use marijuana therapeutically to relieve the symptoms of MS.
And there is emerging evidence in clinical trials in Britain that the stuff in marijuana that gets people high can actually halt the progress of MS, not just alleviate the pain, spasticity and incontinence.
That's because the stuff that gets you high in pot happens to be a powerful neuroprotective. That's why it also seems to protect against Alzheimer's.
So Cubin doesn't have to use her hand to slap people with MS in the face.
She's smacked them pretty hard already with her voting in Congress.
To be fair, Clinton has smacked people with MS around pretty hard, too. He's accused them of being liars, fools and proponents of Cheech and Chong medicine.
Maybe he regrets his harsh hurtful words now. If he does, he ought to come out and say so and make peace where he once made war.
But the movement will move on. People like Clinton and Cubin will just have to get out of the way -- because there is an uprising of the sick and dying in this country and we will not be turned back.
This is the same Barbara Cubin who, during the 2000 recount mess, complained that her fellow Republicans were "bending over and taking it from behind." When somebody suggested this kind of language was inappropriate, she threatened to spank that person.
I wonder if she owns a pair of spike-heeled patent-leather boots, too.
"Mr. Rankin misrepresented Mrs. Cubin's positions and insulted her integrity during the debate."
It's only fair when the Republicans do this to their opponents, don't you see. Just ask Max Cleland. Or any of the current Dems, such as Ted Strickland, accused by Republicans of being friendly with paedophiles. (Now that is brazen.)
that the GOP front runners are slipping-up at these functions means that they are finally facing the reality that their meanspiritedness is being unveiled for all to see. They and their ilk deserve exactally what they get. Karma has a peculiar manner of leveling the playing field.
Barbara Cubin was not embarrassed because no one can embarrass a republican, all of whom think god(small g) is on their side. Cubin was embarrassed because Rankin said the obvious truth and Cubin got caught with her panties down.
She is a prostitute as are all republicans prostitutes and pimps for George Bush and shotgun Cheney.
And she would slap someone in a wheelchair were she not in public sight for all to see. The vicious and hostile tactics of the Repubs are rampant in america.
The repubs turn truth upside down and actually expect the rest of us to swallow it. Well, 241 million americans do not swallow. Cubin got caught out in plain sight by the real truth and she exploded.
Just that simple---
Maybe maybe not. The smart money is split so far. But one need only the latest of 10 zillion book reviews in the WSJ about books on Caesar's bloody rise to dictatorship to understand there's something afoot. I honestly believe the Republicans believe they are utterly unbridled, that power is theirs and they can use any force to hold on to it, legal or not. A lot of people, most really, pooh-poohed Wellstone's death conspiracy talk. This time around, people might not be so eager to toss that theory out if it happens again. Let's understand that when a candidate, publically among witnesses, threatens to assault a handicapped candidate that we're rapidly reaching a turning point. I hate to Godwin things, but this how the SA pushed its way to power in 1933.
Oh god, Barbara Cubin is such an idiot. I have often thought that either she or Marilyn Musgrave (R, CO) should use as their campaign slogan, "Not the stupidest person in the house! There's still Barbara (or Marilyn, it's a tossup). She says stupid things all the time. She was basically originally elected on "Vote for me, I'm a doctor's wife". She is re-elected because, after all, this is Wyoming and she has an "R" by her name on the Ballot.
Ick. Geh. Feh. And this blatant idiocy, the embarassing way she "represents" the state, her stupid comments, her infantile positions, will not matter. There are people here who are STILL proud that Cheney is vice president.
And, she's a liar! She promised to retire (oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please) when she first ran, after twelve years. Here she is running again, in order continue her legacy of idiocy.
Makes me want to slap myself, maybe I'll wake from the nightmare!
