This is not a scandal it's a crime
So laying down isn't and shouldn't protect anyone. If it were you or I we'd be in jail pending a bail hearing on felony child sex offence charges. We could be looking at serious jail time and lifelong registration as a felony sex offender.
Dems are simply not pushing this hard enough. They need to force criminal indictments. They need to have the lot of them dragged away in cuffs. They need to neutralize the entire Republican leadership of the House in its entirety for its complicity in protecting a child sex offender. Period. Those are crimes, not scandals.
Some lame ass on the news said 'it's not a crime because the child's mother didn't want to make a fuss'. Well excuse the fuck out of me but you're wrong. It is a crime. A crime a crime a crime.
And Hastert for his part is guilty of conspiracy, obstruction of justice and abuse of the power of his office to commit commit conspiracy. At the least those are impeachable and criminal offences too. No. They really are. They are crimes. This is not about demon rum or lapses in judgment. These are crimes. These are criminal statutes any member of Congress can easily understand. Like rape, or assault or drug dealing. They are crimes.

Foley's been at his sleazy behavior since 2001, during which time people KNEW what he was doing, and were making deals to keep the worst of his misdeeds out of the public eye. NOW when the whole thing blows up in their faces, all they can do is whine "The Democrats want to make a big deal of this! It's all their fault we're in trouble!" Right! We know DAMN well you'd be screaming your heads off if a Democrat were guilty of what Foley has done.
Maybe they're so quick to recognize partisanship and blame because they're so quick to use it on Democrats themselves. Sorry GOP, this one is YOURS. We don't have to "make a big thing of it" it already IS a big thing. On top of harassing underage pages, Foley is a championship hypocrite, after all his so called work on behalf of sexually abused children. If Foley had been made to resign in 2001 rather than sheltered from the consequences of his own actions you wouldn't be facing this immense problem now. Coverup only postpones the reckoning, folks. And the longer it gets postponed the worse it gets when it finally comes out.
Fellahs, don't cry and blame us--you created your very own October surprise through sheltering Foley for so many years. Don't be surprised if we on the left sit back and enjoy the show of justice being served upon you.
Oh and another thing?
Don't stick yourselves up on righteous pedestals--it's a really good way to make people WANT to throw rocks at you!
