Bush: I'm disgusted with Foley, but I know Denny Hastert

The president says that "people in positions of responsibility" have the responsibility to protect children. Well, some of them, anyway.

The letters thread is now closed.

sounds familiar

Heck of a job, hm?

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 01:06 PM

Bush is praising Hastert ...

He'd better start writing his resignation letter!

"Heckuva job" indeed!

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 01:08 PM

Nah it's all bullshit

All the Republicans I know might complain because they think that's the politic thing to do. But they'll all vote Republican anyway. Facts and reality don't matter. Only hatred, bigotry and ignorance matter. So let's not worry too too much about disingenuous Republicans who claim to be outraged. All the fine people of Germany knew about Dachau too. Didn't change a damn thing. That's just how people are.

Of course everyone knows what craven lying hypocrites the Republican leadership is. That's one of their CHARMS.

Great Minds

"You're doing a heck of a job, Denny!"

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 01:11 PM

just me?

Or does anyone else have the feeling this inocent "child" had a group of friends with him laughing all the while that sorry old fool was getting his rocks off on-line?

"Families have every right to expect that when they send their children to be a congressional page in Washington, ... those children will be safe." Bush

Why should families expect that when they're sending their children to a town infested with prostitutes and hustlers, accomodating interns and leeches of all sorts all there to survice a group of scum (aka our elected officials)known for alcoholism, drug abuse and sexual malfeasance? If it were me, I'd keep my kids home.

"This investigation should be thorough and any violations of law should be prosecuted."

Sounds like somebody's gonna be gettin' a Congressional Medal pretty soon.

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 01:30 PM

How Long? How Hard?

Denny, do I turn you on, at least a bit?

Now that I'm not so busy in Washington, maybe we could share Brandy Alexanders...

I gotta go get a towel

Coming back soon

LOL!

We all know what a good judge of character Dubya is

Remember his comments about Vladimir Putin, after only one meeting in Slovenia during 2001 that lasted less than two hours?

- - - - - - -

"I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straight forward and trustworthy and we had a very good dialogue.

"I was able to get a sense of his soul.

"He's a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country and I appreciate very much the frank dialogue and that's the beginning of a very constructive relationship," Mr. Bush said.

- - - - - - -

Uh, right. Guess that's the kiss of death for Hastert, isn't it? At least the Current Occupant apparently didn't make any claims to know what's in Denny's bloated soul.

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 01:55 PM

Priceless...

...if it wasn't so inane and coming out of the mouth of the guy in the White House: "I meet with him a lot."

Memo to Denny: Clean out the Speaker's office, bubba. Yer on yer way outta there. But don't worry, you won't have to go far. Darth's friends at Halliburton'll find you a job in the land of misfit politicians. Jacka$$es like you don't fade away, they just find cushy jobs on K Street.

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 01:55 PM

Me so horny

Me love you long time.

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 01:57 PM

Bush "knows" him

That's basically the political kiss of death. Anytime Bush resorts to "knowing" someone, they don't usually last much longer. I wonder if it works in reverse...

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 02:04 PM

gprulz, I'm going to have nightmares after your last post...

WHY would you put "knows" in quotes that way? Now when I consider the phrase "Bush knows Hastert," I can't NOT think "knows him in a Biblical way," and it WILL NOT go away.

Yuck, yuck, YUCK!

People in positions of responsibilty

Do as I say, not as I do. Starting an illegal war is certainly not a very responsible action, Mr Bushit.

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 03:02 PM

A teenager is a child, not a "child"

Interesting that the victim-blaming has morphed from calling the victims conniving sluts to calling them conniving bullies. Oh, that poor 52 year old congressman! He never knew what hit him. What chance did he have against *gasp* teenage boys!

Adults have no business sexually exploiting teenage minors. Period.

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 03:21 PM

Fuzzy definitions

Bush having administered the kiss-of-death to Hastert, it will be lovely to watch it all play out.

Suddenly Bush is concerned about "children" and "people in positions of responsibility." It seems that to him, a 16-year-old over the age-of-consent is a child in need of great protection when it comes to sex, but a 16-year-old murderer is an adult worthy of execution. Things certainly are relative in the absolutist world of the Born Again.

One wonders what our frat-boy president would have thought and done had he found out a middle-aged Congressman from Texas was hitting on one or both of his 16-year-old daughters, that the Speaker of the House knew about it and did nothing?

Maybe he should be asked that question by that hustler and phony reporter, Guckert, Rover planted in the press room?

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 03:41 PM

Just so we're clear

Talking to a minor is now considered to be the same thing as rape.

Tuesday, October 3, 2006 03:50 PM

These are great times to be alive, eh Tim?

So many times over the last six years I have watched so many blunders by the Bush administration that it would be hard to count them all. Each time, I thought, "Surely, the American people aren't going to let it pass." But each time, the Republicans (Rove mostly) have been able to slip out of the way of a falling piano at the last second.

But this one, the Foley thing, coming along with Woodward's book, is a full grand piano this time. I think at least a couple of congressmen are going to get splattered all over the sidewalk. (Figuratively of course).

Bush Shows his Stupidity Again

Apparently the moron and chief is completely unaware that it appears that Hastert and the GOP leadership are more concerned with keeping control of Congress than doing something about an out of control member wanting to 'fraternize' with Congressional pages under their control. The moron appears to think that Hastert is himself implacted and that he is defending the speaker against the charges made against Foley.

As usual, the issue is over his head.

Yes, it's just you.

Yes, it does in fact appear to be just you who travels from War Room comment thread to War Room comment thread blaming the teenaged victim for the predations of a powerful man forty years his senior.

Wednesday, October 4, 2006 06:43 AM

P.S.

p.s. how much they payin' ya, zak? or are you just a true believer who drankk the kook-aid and who is doing it on your own nickel?
