We spend 18 years preparing our children for adulthood by teaching them to accept responsibility for their own actions. It's getting harder to do though because our national government doesn't set a very good example. The GOP would have us believe there's a new American value - get what you can for yourself and your buddies then cut out. Santorum is exhibiting the symptoms of this malaise by blaming everyone from the media to the questioning school teacher for his dropping numbers. He's beginning to panic I guess and doesn't want to lose the good deal he has. I don't know whether he owns the house in Virginia where he lives, but I do know he and his family have lived there for years. Now that's not too unusual for those in Congress who've managed to keep their jobs past one term. But they usually go to their home state when Congress isn't in session. He has said he pays PA Income Tax and property taxes on his Penn Hills "home" but it's only an empty house that hasn't been occuppied in years. So why should the Penn Hills School District and the State of PA have to pay anything for his children's Christian cyber-school education. The Santorums are not even taking responsibility for home schooling their children, the computers do the work and Pennsylvania pays for it. And since when is a PA School District responsible for paying for private school - transportation yes, tuition no. And of course that's only a small piece of the pie. Being one of the top GOP Senators, in good graces with Bush and company along with the Christian Right must be a wonderful ride with lots of perks that are unknown to us.
So Mr. Santorum, stop blaming everyone else for your predicament. You took a stand and now you have to pay the piper.
...just about everyone I know is counting the days til we can vote that lying, bigotted, dumb-a$$ excuse for a senator outta office.
In a clip I heard a few weeks back on NPR, he chided people for complaining about something legit, saying, "People are dying out there [in Iraq]." Yeah, a$$hole: because of you and your ilk. So you can't use them twice--once while they were alive and now, a second time, when they are dead--to suit your needs...and not get away with it.
As his best-bud Duhbya says, "Fool me once....can't get fooled again." (Not that I voted for him previously but a bunch of my fellow PAians did.)
The idiot wrote a book! Everything you need to know about what a wack job this guy is . . . is in his book! The media has nothing to do with it - this is sooooo Rethuglican! Grrrrr . . .It is never their fault, isn't now, probably never will be. Vote Democrat in 11/06 people or that previous sentence will never change.
(sorry for the hyperbole - having lived in the great Keystone State for many years, I suffer from Santorum Syndrome)
I just phoned the Senator's office in DC and asked a flunky what explitive explosively ejaculated from Santorum's upper orrifice.
The flunkey said he hadn't heard of the story or quote and therefore couldn't help me.
What did Santorum say? I love it when the 'righteous' start squirting profanities.
Anybody know?
Thanks and *#$!@^&%^@!
Senator Santorum is complaining about one of the pillars of a democratic society, which incidentally is given make believe status even by his own Republican Party. And the press? Most of them have been kissing up to the misunderestimator in the White House for too damn long. They are finally breaking free, realizing that the WH under Bush has more resemblance to an outhouse. The junk that voters are being fed comes mainly from there, witness todays speech of the great decider before the UN. Garbage in the truest sence of the word. All delivered with the typical dumb grin.
to leave the race as a GOP and switch to an Independent line. Then have Rove slaughter the Rebulican who takes his place in the election. This way he and Liberman can continue to rule by splitting the vote. Then we can all torture our way into oblivion. Sounds like a plan...
Don't gloat too much. Remember, the Repugs own the voting machines.
But what ever humiliation Santorum is suffering it's not enough for me. Like my grammy said, "Time wounds all heels."
Ă…wwww, poor widdle Wick.
