I doubt I'm the only one to remember this recurring skit from earlier seasons of Saturday Night Live -- sure seems as though we're all caught in it, living in the "now" and unable to recall what just happened a week or two ago. Short attention span, or collective amnesia, or what?

Why is it the only part of our media apparently holding our "leaders" accountable for what they say, and have said in the past, is a FAKE NEWS SHOW? "The Daily Show" is filled with this sort of history, showing flip-flop after flip-flop, but our REAL media watchdogs act more like lapdogs, eagerly channeling the latest administration talking points to a complacent public.

That Bush has "Snow" as his public face.

Both blow, if you ask me.

If only there were more “Gregory”s, instead of the timid, afraid-to-stand-up-for-the-truth reporters who for six years have allowed hundreds of Bush & Co. inaccuracies, untruths, etc. to go unchallenged, and who, as Stephen Colbert so accurately said, “[t]he mainstream media have uncritically served as lapdog stenographers for this administration.” Bravo, kudos, applause, more, more … to David Gregory! I'm no Tony Snow apologist and I didn't see the press conference or see a transcript, but is it possible this is taken out of context?

It is wrong to believe that staying the course is wrong.

For his sake I am hoping this is what we would hear in his inflection if we were to hear it live.
