...will she be taking Moxie and Spunk with her? Or do they stay with the surgeon who implanted them?
If you were God, would you want to be subjected to Harris' blather 24/7?
SHE thinks a lot of herself, doesn't she? Along comes a Republican whose grasp of reality is even more tenuous than GWB's. And one who is even more dangerously delusional. I'd feel sorry for her, but my heart doesn't bleed THAT much.
Katherine honey, a LOT of people love Jesus. It does not by any stretch of the imagination mean that all of them are necessrily competent or suitable to hold elective office. And anyone who claims they are the truth and the light automatically makes me wonder about their qualifications.
I don't question hers. She has none.
Katherine Harris: what a delusional, cynical nutcase! I still recall her stopping the Florida recount in 2000...and the rest is...a very, very sad chapter in U.S. history. A nightmare we're still struggling with 6 years later. No matter how bad this wingnut Harris is in the polls, she refuses adamantly to face reality and throw in the towel. Her cynical pandering to the religious right is so nauseating.
Can we put her on a shuttle to Pluto? Yeah-the planet that astronomer's have just assigned non-planet status to? Pleeeeeeeeeeze?
...do not look to the U.S. for influence as one nation under god. We just keep watching for the sheer comic absurdity of your nation.
That weird Florida smarminess, that particularly kooky and loud version of Florida Baptist fundamentalism, the excessive makeup, the cartoon-like breasts...Katherine Harris is actually Anita Bryant!
In case there was any doubt that Harris would have done anything to get GWB into office... God told her to do it! She is a loony.
Back when I was a fundy, we used to call these people fire insurance Christians. People who recite a prayer, and maybe even know the right words to say to be accepted by their fellow Christians, but who otherwise live a life pretty much centered on their own selfish ambitions. Led Zeppelin had people like Harris pegged a long time ago.
"When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed..."
If I believed in heaven, I would do everything possible to stay out of there to avoid a certain K Harris, especially if it was to be eternal.
Denfield: although Jesus never said or even implied so, I can assure you that the born-again belief system is precisely as Harris claims: once you confess christ as your savior and are immersion baptized as an adult, you are SAVED. Forever. No matter what. Period.
It's kind of a delayed predestination. Once saved, no matter what horrific crimes you commit, you are going to heaven. Because you are saved. Because you believe christ is your savior, everything single terrible thing you do is automatically forgiven.
This is why people like Bush and DeLay sincerely believe that everything they do is perfectly fine with God. They have "accepted christ as my savior" and been immersed baptized and therefore are forgiven everything. It's an easy step from "always forgiven" to "always right," and one most born-agains can't resist.
Its most direct and damaging result is an utter dearth of personal responsibility and accountability. Everything - EVERYTHING - is "God told me to do it." That not only makes everything they do beyond criticism, but also never their fault.
It is utterly impossible to persuade these people that they can be wrong about anything, and absolutely disastrous to put them in charge of anything more important than watching grass grow.
I speak as a born-again Xian myownself. I only wish there were a way to reverse it.
Harris is insisting that she should be elected because she's a Christian. If she is not, then we are showing the world that we support sin. Well, isn't that just ducky!Sounds a bit like Cheney's insistence that if Bush wasn't re-elected we'd be attacked again. The strategy is getting a bit old. The trouble is when the wolf really does show up, will we be able to tell or is the wolf already here?
The far Right-Wing Politicians sense a loss in November - voila - more terrorist trouble but isolated in different parts of the world. If we want to be safe we need to vote Republican, right?
The Liberal church has had a few legal victories here and there - Dover, PA loses ID to Evolution. The RightWing Church now insists point blank that we are not Christians and its starting to take its toll on friendships and in families.
This polarization exemplified by Harris' attitude can only hurt us. The signs after 9/11 said "United we stand, Divided we fall." It's not a bad sentiment, but the very people who espoused it the most vociferously are the same people who are driving a wedge that is deeper and more painful than any a terrorist could do.
Enough already!

...because she's always guaranteed to bring The Crazy. A story about her just makes the day a bit more happy and full of sun. What a whack job!
The Senate? Please, everybody knows that women aren't supposed to teach or hold positions of power over men. She should stay at home baking and being submissive. She doesn't even cover her hair! And all that whorish makeup!
Let's go stone her!
This modern day Jezebel attempts to usurp the rightful position of men as teachers and elders in our society. She is not a Christian.. She only notes the biblical precepts that can be twisted to support her whorish behavior. If she really wants to be a Christian she needs to scrub all that crap off her face and quit trying to supplant MANkind.
Yes Katherine: White as snow...The history of christianity is written in blood--no snow for you,Kathy. Mene mene teckle upharsin. Florida carried the president because of a corrupt Governor. No snow for you. But you sure got the "white" right. Mike--New York.
