What's particularly interesting about this whole Clinton/Gore/gay thing is that she's still talking about Bill Clinton and Al Gore...six years after either of them ran for any office. So much like Republicans who are apparently still running against John Kerry.

And they say Democrats have nothing new to offer or say. I'd say it's a problem with both parties.

And hey, someone should tell Ann that it's not cool to use the word "fag" unless you're once of us. And of course the theory goes that she just may be a cross-dressing homo. Such a shame. I've met plenty of cross-dressers and they don't deserve to be associated with Ann.

Even if we accept the wild generalization that promiscuity indicates a hostility toward women, hostility toward women might better be defined as "misogyny" than "homosexuality". But maybe that is the blessing of my higher education talking.

If Anne Coulter had gone on Harball and called someone a "total nigger" or a "total kike" do you think it would have passed without comment? Do you think it would have even made it on air?

Wouldn't this have been the perfect time for Matthews to have asked Ms. Coultergeist about that manifestly obvious Adam's apple that she sports? Hell, if she can speculate about Bill Clinton's sexuality based on his promiscuity why couldn't Matthews speculate about HER sexuality based on the size of her Adam's apple?

Please, please, please stop giving this horrid woman space on your website. She obviously loves the viral nature of her impact. If we ignore her and the waste of paper she calls books, won't she eventually go away? (Please?)

I come to Salon to get away from the knee-jerk conservative columnists that seem to pop up on many other news outlets. With all that's going on in this country and the world this week, do you really need to devote a post a day on this horrible woman?

If you stop covering it, it stops being news!

We tried that already.

We tried that with Rush Limbaugh, faith-healing televangelists, people who cling to the leg of a woman going into a clinic and shreik "Mommy don't kill me!", the black-helicopter crowd and all the other ringleaders of the red state circuses. We tried that with people who think Saddam Hussein has lots of weapons of mass destruction, he just buried them in tunnels or in Syria or in the gardens of his palaces.

When these things popped up, for too long rational Americans ignored these phenomena or dismissed them with condencension -- "Oh. look at that. Ism't that cute?" We were like the leaders of the Weimar Republic who thought that if they ignored those fools strutting through the streets in their silly uniforms, they would just go away.

These people need to be picked apart and the pieces buried in dripping ridicule, like smothering a fire by shoveling wet sand over it. The deserve the withering scorn that we usually reserve for out-of-favor celebrities.

We need to invade THEIR world because in our world, we are nothing to them. Ann Coulter does not thrive on the attention Salon.com gives her, because she has a separate universe she inhabits -- one where things are "The Way They Are Supposed To Be," to paraphrase her mentor (and possible connection).

Why is this adamsappled whore getting so much airtime, that should be the real question. She talks about others being gay. Is that based on her own experience and lifestyle? One has to wonder why she is not a direct WH staffer, they had gays in there., and her own intellect is close to that of GWB.

I couldn't care less if this woman becomes a zillionaire. As long as she keeps dragging the right wingers down into the toilet, it's all good with me. Is there somewhere I can send a check to get the publicicty whore more exposure?

If Chris Mathews keeps putting her on his show, how many people do you think are going to continue to take HIM seriously? It's like taking down two nut jobs with one stone. It's coming to a point where all the hosts are going to have to start taking responsibility for what SHE (or he?) says. Chris Mathews might as well called Al Gore a fagot himself. Same goes for all the politicians and view points she stumps for. All these right wing Republicans can be painted with the Ann Coulter brush: whacked-out bat-shit-crazy racist nut job.

It's not like she's converting people to the right wing. Anyone who agrees with her was a right wing zealot to begin with. As dumb as people are- and we as a nation are some dumb mother fuckers- even the dumbest among us can see that this woman is the biggest media whore of the century. And the Republicans embrace her with open arms.

Keep up the good work Adams Apple Annie. And keep giving her a platform Salon.

I really hope the people asked to comment on her will begin saying more and more "Well, let me ask you a question? Why are we even discussing what this creature says? Why do you keep bringing her on your show when it's quite clear she IS the joke while making her little "jokes" that are actually baseless silly accusations. She stirs the pot, and gets richer for it...Stop enabling her already..."

By the way, from above comment, "nigger" and "kike" are some pretty ugly slurs indeed. Saying someone is "gay", however is not the same thing, unless we are accepting the ugliness imputed to it by the "values" right-winger types. I'm gay, I wouldn't care if someone described me as such....but it does all sound very silly when Ann spouts off accusations like a 13-year-old at a slumber party who can't quite figure out if that boy in her class is "you know, gay or something" because he likes math and never asked her out.
