and if this were...

...a Frankenstien movie everyone would be storming the castle with clubs and torches by now.

State of our Union?

They would resign because European countries are still multi-partied democracies.

Buckley on Bush

What Bill Buckley should have added to his comments on Bush is;

If he were Japanese(since he thinks he's a samurai) he would have to fall on

the sword.Don't hold your breath.

Bush to Buckley

You better stop that shit.

If This Were "The Godfather"...

Buckley would be Tom Hagen, advising Bush's Frankie "Five Angels" Pentangeli to go out like a Roman senator, with a bit of class. Throw a big party, then go home, take a hot bath and slit his wrists.

If This Were "Taxi Driver"

.. oh, never mind.

Monday, July 24, 2006 11:02 AM

And if this were Japan

Bush and his cronies would have to kill themselves.

Monday, July 24, 2006 11:28 AM

If this were America . . .

Bush would have been voted out in 2004.

Bush's leadership role models in Europe

ruled BEFORE the Age of Reason lured Europe into its seductive and deadly embrace.

Monday, July 24, 2006 12:15 PM

or...

if he were the CEO of a billion dollar company, he'd be gone by now too.

Legacy

Have to hand it to the old guy. He's still making a valiant effort of passing off eloquence for truth...

"There will be no legacy for Mr. Bush. I don't believe his successor would re-enunciate the words he used in his second inaugural address because they were too ambitious. So therefore I think his legacy is indecipherable"

Any knucklehead knows that Bush Jr. will have an epic legacy. It will be both dark and disasterous, and most likely we will partake of its consequences for the rest of our lives.

Buckley's Wrong

Blair hasn't resigned.

Monday, July 24, 2006 02:01 PM

And if this were the 1970s or 1980s,

people might give a rat's hindquarters what Buckley says. Now, right or wrong, who does? And why the hell has it taken the pompous b*astard 6 years to come to this conclusion?

The difference

Blair as Bush's lapdog did not start the war,nor did he set the policies that led to the present disastruous situation. His approval among Brits did take a nosedive and he is hanging on for dear life. He certainly will not be re-elected. Nevertheless both are the worst leaders both countries could get. Bush tries to imitate Winston Churchill, he forgets however that Churchill did not start WW II , he finished it.In 1954 or so Winston made the statement: "It is always better to to jaw-jaw than to war-war". In his reading(?)of Churchills memoirs Bush did probably not quite that far, afterall they are quite voluminous!

let's not forget asia

so then why not a japanese samurai, who'd commit hari-kari?

Tuesday, July 25, 2006 07:40 AM

If this were Canada...

Bush (and his entire cabinet) would have to stand daily in the House of Commons and be peppered with questions from an opposition out for blood. That would be worth the price of admission.

Buckley's comment on Bush

In Japan he would have been expected to commit hari kari!!
