tim grieve and Hipocracy

Back in 1984 thru 1986 ,the ragan /bush regime ran an iran / contra scheme "Israel sent over one thousand missiles to Iran for Hostages and then ran drugs and guns to contras ()illegally) .Dan Rather pointed this out to GHWB on national t.v. in 1988 ."he said ,"iran / contra was not only an illegal war ,it was immoral ".Bushies response was ,"what office are you running for ?" . Meanwhile during the 8 yr. war between Iraq and Iran reagan / bush played both sides of the fence ,supplying one with weapons and giving false information to the other... It is no wonder when Saddam found out hid friend george was playing games he decided to attack Kuwait ,. Barbara Bodine ,the middle east expert (yemen uss cole) told saddam that bush did not care if arabs killed arabs , joe bell 2 ellis st woburn ma 01801 781-932-1640

History

The whole mess actually dates back to 1926 when British troops were withdrawn from the new state. They left an ethnic and religious mess of major proportions. It would have served the Bushman well to have studied the history of this artifical conglomeration of of ethnicities and religions. Britain also occupied Palestine and was the first target of Zionist terrorism. Lets call a spade a spade. The decisions of the former colonial powers were disastruous the world over and instead of rectifying those wrongdoings the US looked after its own interests in a way resembling those of the past Colonizers. Now the chicken come home to roost, in spite of Cheneys prediction of the insurgency being in its last throws. He is obviously just as ignorant as king George W. The so called insurgency is in fact a looming civil war. The sad part is that thousands of people on both sides had to die for this idiotic enterprise.

What? No "timeline"?

No one said, "The next six months..."? How can anyone who doesn't say "The next six months" be believed?

That place is too volatile for prognostication. This is one example where the fat lady does have to sing before anyone can write finis.

The Last Throes of Democracy

Cheney was right. We were in the last throes of the insurgency prior to civil war, all out regional conflict, and World War. The Bush administration has been drawn into the Chinese finger trap that is the Middle East. He has proven once again that the military superiority of the United States is exceptionally good at winning the battle and losing the war. In doing so, he has undermined the most fundamental principles of democracy at home. Much the like the regimes he claims to oppose, he has consolidated power illegally in the excutive while ignoring the will of the people. He has insured that wealth is concentrated in a small percentage of the population while ignoring the needs of the majority of Americans. Most of us don't see that we, too, are headed for collapse. Bush's extremism has polarized the nation. It will not be much longer before we cannot recover.

Make your triumph short

It is a short path between admitting defeat and blaming the anti-war liberals.

War Criminals

With the casualty county well into six digits, there is no doubt that Bushit, Cheney, Ricearoni, Powell, Asscrack, Gonzales, Dummy Rumsfailed, Perle, Wolfoshitz, and the rest are all, each and every one, blood-drenched war criminals. The destabilization of the whole region- the enboldment of Iran, Syria, Hezbolla, Hamas, the Girl Scouts, the Care Bears, and the Cabbage Patch Kids- is their responsibility, in its entirety. Their deadly blend of cocksure, vainglorious pride and abyssmal ignorance is bringingg us close to the brink of something that smells suspiciously like WWIII- or is is WWWIV now. It's so hard to keep up.

Bloody hands, bloody minds

It's hard to tell how long the list should be: certainly Bush is at the top, with Cheney, Addington, Libby, Rice, Rumsfeld, Perle, Wolfowitz and Feith. Yoo, Ashcroft, and Gonzales the enablers. Powell? The other chicken-shit generals who wouldn't stand up to Rumsfeld and did his bidding?

100,000 dead Iraqis doesn't seem like an overly high estimate.

They'll continue to die, of course, but Fox News won't be reporting it and John Negroponte will forbid the intelligence community to talk about it.

I guess now it's on to the next thing - probably the case for attacking Syria and Iran for backing Hezbollah.

Keep close track of your sons and daughters, Americans, cause there's still a lot of killing and dying to do before Bush is finally hounded like Frankenstein out of the Oval Office by an enraged citizenry with torches and pitchforks. And these idiots have no clue how to put Humpty back together again.

I wonder whatever happened to that "Mission accomplished" poster

With the conflict between Lebanon and Israel, there has been near zero news on Iraq on CNN, MSNBC and (of course) FOX. Thanks to Salon.com (whom is now becoming my main source of news online), I finally found out how Iraq is doing and as expected, it's not any better and looks like it's not getting any better any time soon. When war started between Lebanon and Isreal, I was wondering what was going to have to the American military in Iraq. Would the US get involved in that conflict as well? The answer looks to be no, but thanks to the Bush/Cheney doctorine of pre-emptive war, the near future doesn't look quite clear. With the Iraqi authorities giving up on trying to put the country back together, the US military definitely won't have good time trying to pick up the pieces...if there is any pieces left that is. The way things are going, the troops look to be staying until 2016 or establishing permanent bases there as well. It is very clear that Bush wants (or wanted to now) to let Iraq be his legacy since he thought he would get rid of a monster tyrant and free a country all under an administration under his name. That attempt definitely feels like a backfire and the backlash of his plans will probably be felt for many years by the people both in Iraq, the rest of the Middle East, and the militaries of those countries as well the U.S. The only people who look to benefit from this mistake are those who profit from war and weaspons. Oh, those people are having a field day now.
