He can swear like a sailor, but he's sensitive, too

The president treats German Chancellor Angela Merkel to an impromptu and apparently unwanted massage.

The letters thread is now closed.

That's creepy...

And how much disrespect does this groping show to the Chancellor of Germany to treat her like that? There's no excuse for treating anyone, let alone a head of state, like that. W needs to go to a sexual harrassment sensitivity course.

Missing Goose.

What is not mentioned in your article is that before he gooses the German Chancellor, the video clearly shows President Bush pinching the guy's butt (who is seated to the right of the Chancellor).

My sources tell me that the President did this so casually at the Summit because he routinely practices this behaviour before meetings with Rumsfeld and Condi. They also state that this is one of the main reasons that former Secretary of State Colin Powell left his office in 2005. Powell did not mind the goose-stepping as much as he minded the goos-ing. - AGJ

spoiled frat boy strikes again

This is one of the effects of surrounding yourself with people who only tell you what you want to hear. Bush has lost any sense of appropriate behavior.

He's like a spoiled kid whose parents let him get away with anything.

Butt pinch?

I watched the video several times and Bush wasn't near that guy's butt. The guy was sitting down, how could Bush have pinched his butt? The guy does sit up and down quickly so maybe Bush jabbed his shoulder or something like that.

Which doesn't remotely take away from the unbecoming, degrading, sexist behavior of our representative on the world stage. If Clinton had been caught doing this; chewing with his mouth open; saying Yo Blair, the Daily News would have blasted him with a SHAME! headline and the right wing would have run with it for days.

They used to say that in America, anyone can become president. Now we have proof. Anyone has.

Neanderthal power play

This is almost frame-for-frame my experience with a sexist creep who did exactly this, back in the 80s before sexual harassment policies had teeth. He was a peer of my boss and would love to find opportunities to sidle up behind my desk and "surprise" me with a massage.

But the worst was the one time I was presenting a proposal to a large group and this guy pulls this on his way out for a pee break. I "knew" he would do it so I flinched back and stared at him the instant he grabbed me, and I just looked at him with a sullen "What the *beep* do *you* want?" expression as the meeting grinded to a halt and the whole room stared and this jerk with his goofy leer that dissolved in the silence -- finally -- into embarrassment. He never did it again.

In a perfect world, Merkel would get up and slap Bush's Neanderthal monkey face so hard his witch mother would feel it.

Georgie doesn't even respoect the office of the Presidency

Whenever anyone wants to make an excuse about why people shouldn't rip on George Bush and point out his moronic actions and failed policies, they always say you should swho "respect" for the office and the position of the presidency. Then out of the other side of their mouths they like ot talk about how Bush's actions are that of a refreshing, normal, down-to-earth regular joe instead of that of an immature frat boy moron.

Hell, not even Georgie Boy shows respect for the office of the presidency. I'm not saying the guy has to act prim and proper every second of every day. I'm just saying that when he is at a major conference with other world leaders, he shouldn't eat with his mouth full, use profance language out in the open, or sexually harass another head of state (would he have done that to a male head of state? not on your life).

This man is an absolute disaster.

Still waiting

for that dignity to arrive in the White House as promised by the GOP.

You can tell that Bush has never inhabited in the world most of us live in since his manners are ones you expect from a teenage boy. Not surprising since he always had everything handed to him and never had to work with out a safety net. He never had incentives in learning any manners. He always was the boss and as such never had to take into account weather any behaviour was inappropriate or not.

As I said before

Watching the Clod eating with an open mouth, talking at the same time and using four letter words, nothing surprises me anymore. Behaviour like a drunken frat boy (not sailor, that would be an insult to them) is very becoming to what he supposes to be "Leader of the World". Goosing women is part of the tradition. No surprise there. What is surprising, however, is the seemingly low standard of those who voted for this guy and still defend him. Does that say something about the values and standards of this nation? I hope not since they only account for something like 35 % of the people.

Time to enroll in Statesman Behavior 101

This isn't the first time Bush has embarassed himself with inappropriate touching of another State dignitary or world leader. This past spring our clown in chief was shown yanking at the coat sleeve of China's president Hu, who is clearly looks uncomfortable by the gesture in the pic. have a look for yourself.

His degrading treatment of Prez. Merkel and the over-the-top cavelier behavior among his international peers further perpetuates the laughing joke that the blue blooded heel of a more polished Statesman (41 acutally practiced diplomacy on a level more or less respected by the rest of the world, unlike the laughingstock his spawn has made us). I'm embarassed to call him my country's president, and have continually felt a compounding shame ever since Rhenquist administered the Oath in early 2001.

never thought I'd write this but it could be worse

At least he didn't give the Putin-small child-lollipop maneuver. For that we can be grateful.

The Door Still Swings Both Ways

Given his past, it's notable that Bu$h still has an attraction, albeit a sick one, to women. But then, he treats them like men. The best of both worlds simultaneously?

Remember about two months back...

When George W. Bush was appearing with the Prime Minister of Japan or someone like that and the foreign visitor began to walk from the podiums and George grabbed his sleeve and held on, trying to get him to remain at the podium for photos or something -- it was wholly inappropriate, what must he have been thinking..? File in the same drawer with deciding rubbing the shoulders of another world leader is somehow appropriate...

He really IS that stupid.
