Outsource this job

to India or China for 70% cost savings.

I'm surprised they didn't give a cost-plus contract to Halliburton and taxpayers would be paying $1mm to find out crap we know already!

Staffing the WH

Well, somebody has to come up with all those stories and lies. If the principal is not quite capable of properly thinking it seems necessary to pay somebody who is, ie, Rove Libby and Co. The Results are gradually showing in missions accomplished in Irak, Afghanistan, not to mention North Korea. The disappearing petty sums (Only billions not trillions) from Irak and Katrina need explaining as well. Is Cheney still on the payroll of Halliburton, it would not be a surprise. Funny though a certain James Dean of Nixons time in the WH published a book about Superconservatives like the clique around the king, and is very critical of the whole bunch, according to him they are not really republicans, more like fascists, repugnant.

Where did Rahm's comments orginally appear?

Where did Emanuel publish this piece? Or is it a Salon exclusive?

Because it is absolutely blistering in the way great humor and great truth usually are.

A Thousands Points of Light

How about an all volunteer White House? Better yet, why don't we save money and contract out the White House to Haliburton and cut out the middle men?

Good to see

Rahm Emanuel go on the offensive about this administration. Instead of arguing the fine points of a cost of living increase, use this data to point out their failings. A sound strategical move by a Democratic official - pointing out the obvious in a clear way. I'm not sure how to react.

It's like the Mob...

They get paid to keep their mouths shut.

As sad as that is, I find it more distressing that the WH was willing to hand out a lot of fat raises to the higher ups, and nothing to their low-level staffers. Karl Rove gets a raise for not being indicted & the mail clerk who makes $30K gets bupkis. Not surprising, but sad nonetheless.
