And who would that be, Karl?

Rove seems to say that whoever leaked Plame's identity should be fired.

The letters thread is now closed.

Here is Karl's Plan

He ratted out Cheney. Cheney will resign. Jeb Bush will be appointed Vice President, and he will then be appointed President in 2008 by the Diebold electronic voting machines.

Then lets just fire Dick Cheney......

that works for me.

How did you know?

Critcd:

Would be funnier if it wasn't so damn plausible.

Cheney will be gone

I fully expect they are looking for a "plausible" reason for Cheney to resign - probably related to his health. Could happen by the end of the summer, to try to boost the chances of improving the poll ratings for GWB and the Republicans. If there is any hint of an indictment of Cheney, or even of him being put under oath to testify about Scooter, expect a preemptive pardon of both of them that would end any prosection. Pardon would probably be held off until after November's election, otherwise it would become an issue.

I predcit Condi will be appointed VP.

If Cheney leaves the VP spot, don't think for a minute he will stop pulling strings from behind the scenes. He will not want to give up his dominating roll without a fight. Bet he will keep all his security clearances and access to daily briefings as well. And his staff will carry on, vetting all legislation sent to the president from congress, to write up more signing statements so this administation can continue to end the rule of law in this country.

More Crap from Karl Rove: The Moron's "genius"

While the media continue to call Karl Rove a "genius", anyone who bothers to look into his background sees what he really is: he's still that same ill-socialized, fat boy, college Young Republican (along with his buddies Grover Norquist, Ralph Reed, and Jack Abramoff - - have I missed any ?) who has never grown up and has spent his entire "adult" life pulling stupid dirty tricks, slandering people, engaging in character assassination, distorting and debasing our political discourse, corrupting the English language with clever sophistry, and in general corrupting our political system.

His comments at the Aspen gathering are just more of the same excrement that he has been spreading for years.

He cut his eye teeth during his apprenticeship under Lee Atwater, the 20th Century's filthiest dirty trickster, and Roger Ailes, another resident of the politcal and media gutter.

What ambition ! What a life's achievement! To contribute so much to corrupting a reasonably fair political system and dragging it right down into the Republican Party cess pool. And the only reason he is getting away with it is that he was placed in the White House along with our resident oval office moron by Dick Cheney and his neocon mob who have commandeered the few decent Republicans left after the Clinton impeachment.

Add to that the absence of any sort of commom sense or intelligence among our declining media in the US and you get the picture: the White House moron loves and needs him to survive, and the media are dazzled by his clever tactics and are afraid of him. They're incapable of recognizing the difference between a genius and a clever misfit. So they have joined him and his crew of loudmouth "conservative" commentators floating on the surface of the same Republican Party cess pool.

The Real Meaning of Rove's Statement

Let's examine Rove's words. "Should" is a way of establishing the pretense of ethical behavior without actually demonstrating ethical behavior. I should be working, but I'm writing a letter to Salon. "Be" of course brings up the key dilemma facing Washington politicians: the meaning of is. "Is" is a 'being verb' not an action verb. "Fired" is what happens when one is not competent; 'imprisoned' is what happens when you leak classified information and endager national security. So what was Rove really saying: Scooter Libby should not be prosecuted since he has already been fired.
