Bush vs. language
Bush's use of language is part of this. His non-answer, in that he fails to address the question, is, actually an answer of sorts:
I don't listen. Because of chronic alcohol use (sober now, so everything is just fine) I don't process things very well. I have a very hard time listening. Don't take it personal--it's not just reporters--I also have difficulty processing input from my cabinet, and most others. My brain cannot accomodate another person's perspective, so I just have to repeat myself. I've rehearsed this answer with my handlers many times--here it is again. Why don't you people just give up and we can just tell jokes? Isn't that more fun anyway?
I could go on, but I think that's enough.

the simple questions
Bush said he would not tolerate leaking by his advisors and would fire anyone shown to have done it.
He needs to be asked, and repeatedly until he answers:
Given the information available as a result of the investigation, are you not convinced that Karl Rove was at least one of the people responsible for the leak disclosing Ms. Plame's identity?
If he says no, I guess that will have to speak for itself. If he says yes, then he must be asked why he is reneging on his pledge to fire anyone found to have done it.

When did you stop beating your wife?
"And," Wallsten asked, "do you have any work to do to rebuild credibility that might have been lost?"
That's not a "question." It's an accusation. I wouldn't have answered it either.

Shades of Oedipus
Perspective is a key theme in Oedipus along with the son-mother thing. What Freud doesn't tell us the king's subconscious desire to kill his father and sleep with his mother is blurs the king's perspective. He must look outward instead of inward; otherwise, he would have to face his own demons, or in this case, his own evil-doers. If you can imagine Barabara Bush as Jocasta, you can also imagine how difficult facing those subconscious desires might be. The interesting thing about George Bush is that he not only lacks hindsight, he can't even see the blind guy.

There he goes again!
From time to time Mr. Bush's inner frat boy shows itself; self centered and insensitive, a true
type A jerk. When is someone going to tell him that the dominance games should be saved for when
the cameras are turned off?
-
GEORGE IS A PRICK!
Our Beloved Leader really likes making fun of people, especially those with difficulties or misfortunes.
He is even on record telling Jenna to "Clean up her room", the evening before she was scheduled for surgery!
Remember these incidents the next time he mentions anything about"compassion".
-
Typical frat brat....
'Oh look, it's someone a little bit different! Let's pick on him.'
Maybe people want to have a beer with him so he'll leave them alone. I used to know guys like that back in high school.

Wrong point
Though Master couldn't recognize his own psyche if he bumped into it in the dark, and though he runs from it in terror when he does see a glimpse of himself, that's not what's important here. What's here is that he was asked a very good question, and he dodged it with cruel jokes. A little crueler than he realized here, but cruel nonetheless. Stupid frat boy.
