Elisabeth Bumiller
Good riddance! She is one of the reasons why I stopped buying the NYT. Her sickening adoration of all things George Bush nauseated me.
-
The epitaph
Bumiller- BOOOOOOOH,good riddance.
-
Good
Riddance!

I should have read the other posts first.
We all seem to have had the same reaction: Buh-bye. And don't let the door hit you on the way out.
By the way, on another topic. Was anyone else outraged by Byron Calame's defense of the indefensible story on the Clinton marriage this Sunday. I threw the paper down and told by better half that we were cancelling the paper (again).

No More Geneva Conventions

I know it doesn't have much to do with Bumiller, but please, someone, draw attention to this piece. It is horrific. It's only positive side is that it may draw more attention to the need to get Rumsfeld out of there.
-
So, who's next?
I'm as glad to see Bumiller go as the rest of the letter writers. Any reporter who can't master their own fear when interviewing/questioning the President about matters as important as going to war doesn't belong on the White House beat.
Which brings me to the really important question. Will the person replacing Bumiller be any better or are we just substituting one sycophant for another?
-
Afraid
Too afraid to question the president? On the Whitehouse beat!?! How in the world this person ever got to any position of responsibility at the Times is beyond me, but then, we live in a world that pays the salaries of Brownie and Rumsfeld and Bush, so no amount of incompetence at any level should suprise me any more I guess.
-
Bye, Bye Miss American Pie
Scott McClellan asked you to correct a factual error? That in itself is a fitting epitaph.

Bumiller's Farewell
Now that Elisabeth Bumiller has stopped doing the White House beat, perhaps she'll now have time to the physical defects she hinted at in her columns. Her lips must be seriously chapped after continual contact with the posteriors of various Bush administration officials. Long tanning salon sessions can perhaps remove the long and noticeable tinge of yellow running along her spine.

Don't Cry for Her Argentina!
Once we see behind the hallowed halls of the traditional media, such as these insights, it's more obvious that rather than participating in some grand conspiracy to further the neocon agenda, reporters such as these are simply incompetent and myopic. And like Judith Miller, all too powerful despite their glaring weaknesses.

Bumiller Killed Journalism?
Re: Elisabeth Bumiller
What a sychophant and kiss ass. She is from Cincinnati, Ohio and that explains a lot. That area of Ohio is full of kiss ass, blind, lock step, knee jerk, 'Stepford' Repubs who never think outside the box, as most Repubs don't. Bush and Rove have dragged the entire Repub party down to their level of stupidity, including some members of my family.
She is a perfect example of the failures of the NYT and the entire MSM. They have rendered themselves irrelevant, they are useless as news sources. Fox is useless because of their acts of commission (blind stupid editorializing and complete lack of reporting) and the remainder of the MSM is useless by it's acts of ommission (shallow reporting on just so many non-issues).
No wonder the blogosphere is overtaking and in so many ways outpacing the MSM. Do 'we the people' really need Elisabeth Bumiller to insult our intelligence, Bush/ Rove /the Repubs/ dummies like Sen. Inhofe/ high level military personnel do it everyday. When we get so much stupidity and intelligence insulting verbiage from government dummies we certainly don't need even more from Bumiller, the NYT and all the MSM.
The entire MSM has been dumbed down by Rove/Bush. The entire MSM is killing itself.
Long live the blogosphere and other alternative media.
No journalism equals no democracy. No 'Checks and Balances equals no democracy which equals no America.
Journalism in America is dead and Bumiller helped kill it!
