A little math shows exactly how skewed these cuts are. Figure the percentage of annual income returned to the folks with the highest income in each of the brackets from the Post's table. Those who make $20,000/year get back $2, or 0.01% of their income. Those making $50,000/year get back 0.09% ($46). Those making $500,000/year get back 0.9% ($4499). The poor get enough to *maybe* buy a loaf of bread; the rich get enough for a couple of computers or another big-screen TV.
I would happily pay another $200 in taxes as my share to eradicate the deficit. We boomers must not leave a huge deficit for our kids. Carl

HERETICS!! How dare anyone think about not providing tax relief equivalent to half a tank of gas!

It's bad enough that I still get "red-state" looks just because of who I am. But when I get them for saying that I'd rather pay more in taxes now and reduce the not only the national deficit but the actual national debt, not only do I get the look, but people I flecks of foam start forming at the corners of their mouth as they rabidly attack my position.
And sadly, no amount of economically sound reasoning can break through. It's thoroughly disgusting.
