Watching John Stewart last night, the best laughter producing part was when he ran the Bushmans appointment speeches for both Goss and the current proposed CIA boss. Word for word identical, only GWB's suit was different. And if the General should fail in the Senate hearings, safe bet ,the same wording will be repeated again. Seems the pres knows it by heart , but then he read it.
...here is a case that they're not issuing warrants so the probable cause clause of the 4th amendment goes out the window, and you're back to the issue of reasonableness-- as is in "no unreasonable search and siezures".
I don't see why we should be arguing over the minituae of interpretation of the Constitution of the United States when the Supreme Court has long since settled this issue. Warrantless wiretapping of U.S. citizens is an unreasonable search and therefore unconstitutional - period. Bush has forsaken his oath of office - period.
Did anyone else notice a startling rememblance between Bush's "architect", Karl Rove, and Bush's CIA nominee, Gen. Michael Hayden?
Tim, I'm with you nearly all the time and I certainly think the warrantless spying program is fucked, but here is a case that they're not issuing warrants so the probable cause clause of the 4th amendment goes out the window, and you're back to the issue of reasonableness-- as is in "no unreasonable search and siezures".
Uh Tim,
Hate to seem nit-picky, but Michael Hayden is Air Force, not Army. The blue suit should have been a give-away.
