that 66 percent of Republican's still think this man is doing a fine job!
It is remarkable, given Bush's complete failure as president, that two-thirds of Republicans still support their Beloved Porkchop. Is this just further evidence of our polarization? I wonder how this compares with the support of other recent presidents from their own party, esp. during crises in their presidency.
I'm one of the few non-Republicans in a military town in Central Texas, but I've been pleased to hear numerous Republicans complain about Bush. It seems to me that 66% is more optimistic than realistic (from the Bush administration's perspective, of course).
Basically only the intelligence of 66 % of the Republicans polled! It seems they try to compete with their beloved King, no nucuar scientist he!
It would be interesting to see a poll or article investigating why the ultra Republican faithful still love Bush despite his many policy failures, recent political failures, and demonstrated incompetence. Not to mention the fact that he's the antithesis of a traditional fiscal conservative. To me, frankly, the adulation is inexplicable. I begin to think it's no more than a personality cult or a willed disinclination to look at the news.
..of Republicans still give him a thumbs up??????? Not any of the Republicans I know in San Diego County. I guess all you have to do is avoid oral sex to keep 'em happy in the Heartland.
Because he opposes abortion and allowing equal rights for homosexuals. Some are still delusional enough to believe that Iraq is going well and is making us safer, but the bottom line is that he is the religious right's President and they still support him for that.
From the linked FOX News article:
"Americans are split evenly on whether Rumsfeld should stay on as secretary of defense. Four in 10 Americans say they think Rumsfeld should resign, but 41 percent disagrees and one in five is unsure."
Reading that again, something's wrong here:
Four in 10 Americans thinks he should resign = 40%
41% disagrees = 41%
One in five is unsure = 20%
How did they end up with 101%? Did they sneak in the extra 1% so the Rumsfeld supporters could still have the "majority"?
As a Canadian living in the US I'm suprised that the approval rating is that high. Isn't that the same percentage of people who believe professional wrestling is real? Is there a connection?
