Blame Bush for what Bush has done, not Doyle.
Sadly, Fizzy is right...at least about Mr. Doyle not being a Republican stooge. It is unclear whether Mr.. Doyle is a formal "democrat." However, it is certain that he is not a political appointee. He worked at Time for most of his career (over 20 years). He took a early retirement from Time, and was hired as a senior civil servant by the TSA in 2001 (transfering to DHS at a later date) -- unclear if he was Senior Executive Service (SES)or a high GS15. As such, officially at least, he was a-political. He was well-known and well-thought of in professional journalism circles in Washington.
I'd love this to be a scandal about Republican hypocrisy, but the known facts don't bare this out. Whatever sick issues Mr.. Doyle has, they would seem to be completely on him, not the Bush Administration. Besides, there is enough strategic, tactical, ideological and moral incompetence already to be found in the Administration, some sad, perverted loner doesn't need to be added into the mix (without any proof) for this Administration to be seen as the complete disaster that it is.
