Are Scott McClellan and John Snow on the block?

The White House may be planning to fire some people. But don't call this a "shake-up."

The letters thread is now closed.

If A Cabinet Officer Resigns In the Middle Of The Forest ...

Scotty fibs, employs bad ad libs,

While John Snow counts all the dough;

Rumsfeld riffs, raps and scowls,

While troops in tin cans hope that god-damned IED won't blow;

Condi flits, bright and happy,

Around the world on her own oil tanker,

While the gas-men hiding behind her skirts,

are the world's real wankers;

Andy ran the trains on time,

Introduced wars in September, never August,

Just like the used cars he likes to sell

And the way he signed New Orleans death knell;

And then there's Gonzales, our own prized Torquemada,

Makes resisting the Inquisition, all that much harder;

As for Dick, he's used up his last trick,

Shot his best friend, lost out in the end.

And finally George, our dear manly George,

Struts and puffs and juts out his jaw,

Clearing brush so that everyone saw;

He says he is King,

It has a nice ring,

Why fight it? Make right it -

All Hail Our West Wing!

Republicans want to emphasize robust economy

Republicans apparently view of the economy is through the eyes of their corporate sponsors. It is no wonder that ordinary Americans are not buying it. Bush says that Americans should embrace outsourcing.

Well, I should would like to outsource Bush and all his cronies to the third world to live on third world wages.

Ross Perot had it right about NAFTA and all other Republican sponsored free trade agreements, which is all about cheap labor and not paying US taxes.

When we have exported all of the white-collar and blue-collar jobs, where is our economy going to be. In the toilet.

The rich will not pay taxes and more and more of the tax load will continue to be dumped on the middle class and the poor.

Some jobs cannot be outsourced but most of those private sector jobs are dependent on customers, who can afford to use their services. The future US economic picture is not bright and rosy.

This is the end result of the US government encouraging American manufacturers to move their factories overseas.

Blame the Messenger

The reason Bush's popularity is waning has to do with the mess, not the messenger. Rumsfeld, Cheney, the whole rotten cabal, that's who needs replacing, not the press secretary.

Window Dressing

Dumping McClellan and Snow means absolutely nothing. Treasury has no influence in this administration--Bush has shown that time and again. Bruce Bartlett's IMPOSTOR points out that there's never been a President who changes staff so little, and never one surrounded by so many "yes-men and hacks."

The problem is not communication

The WH can spin all they want, but until what is really taking place on the ground and what is being said match will there be any change in perception.

Rumsfeld seems to believe he is losing the information "war" so his plan to rectify the situation is more propaganda.

When Bush's numbers are in the 30's they think by changing communications strategy it will alter people's perceptions.

Bush and his administration do not understand it is not the "message" that needs changing, it is their policies -- policies that are adversely affecting lives ... worldwide!
