I can just picture Karl Rove standing offstage loading up the Thorazine dartgun.
This shockingly inarticulate man is the president of our country. We get what we deserve for electing him. (The second time; Not the first time when he wasn't elected.)
In other words... Can anyone understand what he is saying? For example... what does he mean?
Are all his appearances like this?
I understand deep and abiding partisan loyalty. But how could anyone get through that "De Tocqueville, who's a French guy..." non sequitur and not feel ashamed that this is what we present to the world?
Of course, I thought the statement about protecting Americans after September 11 was telling; doesn't explain what his understanding of the job was before then.
... that's the best I've got. Holy, holy, crap.
What a bumfuck this guy is....
No Balls Bush says he'll keep brave U.S. servicemen and women in Iraq until his sorry presidency ends......notice how there aren't any kids named Bush, Cheney or Rumsfeld over there?
As for his fantastic ability to express himself..."Dumbya" is a real treat...he's nothing but a tinhorn dictator who preaches only to a heavily screened, dumbass, bootlicking, cherry-picked audience and when real questions come....he either pretends to not hear them, or says he's got to return to work....which is code language for adjourning to his Air Force One bed for yet another nap.....
Impeach The Lameduck AWOL Bumfuck ASAP
Maybe he could go to some, like, classes there, you know, about laws and stuff. He could read that French guy's thing, that book thing that French guy wrote. Yeah, he could read that. Or just the Cliffs Notes.
And his friends from Texas could show up there, too, and they could all hang out together, and maybe talk about the job description of the President of the United States. And practice making decisions about stuff.
It's the stuff that's really deadly. The stuff and, you know, laws and stuff like that. Makes it hard to be educator-in-chief.
He is mad as a hatter.
even if he is as dumb as a sack of doorknobs, even if he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, even if he's a few bricks shy of a full load, even if he's about a half a bubble out of plumb, even, aw shit, you get the point.
After reading what Bush said...and seeing a small visual on the Daily Show, I am more convinced that this man is on drugs. But more importantly - why is no one in his staff keeping him from a microphone? Or is this yet another distraction - when we all need to be viewing what is happening in Iraq/Afganistan? Surely the GOP could trot out another GOPer for more unintended dark humour...and save El Presidente? Or are they coming to the end of their roster of willing scapegoats, after what happened to Brownie?
"Iraq is a part of the global war on terror. In other words, it's a global war. "
Did I hear this right? Did he just declare war on the ENTIRE WORLD?!?!?

Let’s have contest. Who can write the best farewell address for the Bush Presidency. It can be funny. Serious. No, it has to be funny. I, our nation and our planet need the humor to help us through the darkest hours in the history of the United States.
We’ll call our contest The Humpty-Dumpty Farewell Address Essay Contest
The scariest scenario for me is how do we put our nation and planet together after Humpty-Dumpty has thrown our nation off the mountaintop into the abyss.
I couldn't tell if that was George Bush speaking or a poorly written episode of Beavis and Butthead
This guy... I mean. Is this the text of his entire speech?? Goodness... Can you imagine how stupid those people felt, who came to see their great leader, face to face. say such ground-breaking things? I guess some folks think 'less is more' when the supposed leader of the free world has such a HUGE amount of things he can't say...Right??
hmmmmmm.....what did he say??
Dubya must think that a down to earth, homespun style is a good balance to his typical arrogant dismissiveness. The problem is that anyway that you phrase it or deliver the message, most of us still require a reasonable facsimile of logic with some basis in fact. Regardless of whether he tries to be the good ole texas boy or the hard line, stay-the-course arrogant, don't question me - he still can't seem to string together a simple set of words that convey ideas supported by facts leading to a logical conclusion. In the Bush universe, Iraq is part of global terror, and therefore we are fighting a global war on terror. He seems to think that the current debate about his decisions is simply because we've forgotten about 9-11. Not so. I don't know anyone that has forgotten 9-11. The current debate is in part due to increased scrutiny by at least some of the press, and that the information that we see just doesn't support the decisions that have been made. When more people finally came around to ask slightly more probing questions, it become abundantly clear that Bush and his administration have no defensible answers for their misquided actions. When pushed on a explanation he can not provide convincing arguments supported by evidence, he's just really painful to watch and hear. He seems to think that restating his answer in a slightly modified form provides clarity. Unfortunately, his ineptness becomes more glaring and magnfied, even to his previous admirers and supporters, because he's now forced to do a few press conferences and speeches. I wonder if Harriet Meier still thinks that he just the most amazing brilliant man? I expect much, much more from my president.
