In spite of my personal deep admiration for the courageous and principled Senator Feingold, I still suggest Robert Burns would be a great mentor to my party this year:

"O wad some Power the giftie gie us

To see oursels as ithers see us!

It wad frae monie a blunder free us

    An foolish notion. . ."

Right on, both Kerry and Frist are at the bottom of the long list, Kerry for lack of conviction and Frist for having the courage of a chipmunk. Reminds me of when Dan Quale thought he was in some way remotely qualified to hold that office.

I basically like McCain, but I think he would attack Iran if he were elected. He has said he would when Iran produces its first nuke. We are not winning in Iraq, we would never win in Iran. (Interesting to note that the last and only war we have won (since the revolution of 1776) was WWII when our survival was at stake. Think about that.)

As to Hillary, can you imagine an middle aged Iowa woman working in a small town diner voting for Hill? Let alone a Southern Christian.

Somebody has to emerge if we are to have a President worth expending effort for. How about Evan Bayh?
