How ironic that your subhead "Who's in Cheney's sights" so closely precedes the whole hunting accident being talked about in the media today. Are you guys psychic or something?
Did you really write "Who's in Cheney's sights?" on February 10? Wow.
(You gotta put your tinfoil hat on for this or you'll take it the wrong way.)
Clearly Salon is only masquerading as a liberal/left/progressive publication. The only way they could have known that Cheney was going to shoot someone this weekend is if they are actually part of Cheney's inner circle. The clear implication of their publishing this War Room piece on Friday, is that Tim had been tipped off by Cheney or his staff that Cheney planned to shoot someone this weekend but that for unknown reasons (a TGIF induced delirium?), Tim jumped the gun and accidentally published this information a couple of days early. What we should all be asking is why has Tim been deceiving us for all this time? Is Tim really Jeff Guckert/Gannon? How did he know this was going to happen? And what is the Bush administration's motive for leaking this information to the press?
(OK. Tinfoil hat off. Hope you enjoyed that.)
Too funny. "Who's in Cheney's Sights", This was part of the article, "In Search of Answers" as you headed into the weekend.
Whoda thunk?

Unbelievable coincidence.....
With hunting buddies like Cheney's, who needs quail?
How ironic. Who's in Cheney's sights? Innocent quail? Poor Harry Whittington! See NY Times Sunday.
Congratulations to the Jewish community of Maryland for being underwhelmed, to say the least, by Lt. Gov. Steele's remarks. Why should they see things Steele's way? Judaism, even Orthodox Judaism, doesn't have the absolutist view of human life beginning at conception, and the Jewish imperative to heal the sick trumps anything that might happen to a leftover embryo. Not to mention the use of the greatest crime ever perpetrated against the Jews as a rhetorical lever for some issue far removed from genocide--remember, the Holocaust was an attempt to wipe out all Jews, but is stem-cell research an attempt to wipe out all embryos?
But the weirdest part of this story is that Steele himself said that what he'd said "did not reflect my attitude and my belief." If it didn't, why did he say it?
...man, are you guys psychic?
Damn you beat me to it!
I wish he had been hunting with Bush, a couple of Supreme Court Justices, most of his cabinet and all of his appointees. All lined up, in a row, and heavier ammo. Then perhaps a ricochet off a large rock...
Timing is everything. Who would have thought when this headline was written that the answer would be an elderly Texas attorney?
And the AP says that Bush's approval rating is at the bottom, meaning about 40%. It won't be near the bottom IMO unless it's in the single digits, but even 20% would be nice.
FOX is so under Republican control, and the administration is so freaked out by what they saw at that church. Do you think its a coincidence that the next day the lead photo on Yahoo News was Condi Rice looking presidential & next to some BS blurb about her telling someone off about something? The story made it to Salon's AP wire too. & then a big push on how important surveillance is from the President all week...
