  • Why bother?

Why bother having hearings at all when the consistent message from the White House is: "Trust us, we know what we're doing."

That is, when they're not saying, "It's none of your business."

Specter doesn't have the balls to issue a subpoena and this will fade like every other abuse of power over the past five years has faded.

  • Tone of "War Room"

I read "War Room" religiously, but I would prefer that the tone be changed from Limbaughesque to dispassionate. Does anyone out there feel the same? The baiting, "isn't this awful" style popularized by the right-wing makes me feel kind-of dirty.

  • Hearsay

"I said this is what he said. Take it or leave it! Trust me!" Right!

  • Oh, please

The tone of War Room is to Rush Limbaugh what a vitamin is to hillbilly heroin.

  • Power Corrupts

How can the administration possibly expect the American people to accept the 'trust me/us' concept when everyday there's a new report of a government offical or employee pleading guilty to some offense involving corruption. Two adages come to mind:

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

It's not enough for Cesar's wife to be virtuous, she must also appear virtuous.

In other words: We need to see the proof, not just accept their word.
