What about all those American flag lapel pins? Aren't they a
form of protest? Let's arrest Congressmen!
So we have not only Cindy Sheehan, but another person escorted out of the House chamber for wearing a printed tee? Is this what we've come to? Neither woman was wearing something obscene, nor does it seem Ms. Sheehan was being disruptive.
It makes Bush's words about Coretta Scott King seem even more hollow and phony. If he truly honors the King family legacy, he will see to it both women receive public apologies.
Can you imagine what would have happened if the capital police had arrested someone for wearing a T showing Monica in a blue dress, even unstained, during a Clinton SOTU speech? The Republicans would have burned down the building.
So where are the Democrats in this spat? Hiding in a corner, most likely. What a pathetic bunch of losers. They disgust me.
While I can see how our president's weak sensibilities might be disturbed by Sheehan's shirt, what was wrong with the congressman's wife's t-shirt? Are "patriotic Americans" not supporting the troops now?
Let's connect the dots here. Recall in Bush SOTU speech he took the time to acknowlege a mother, father and wife sitting in the gallery. They were the relatives of a US soldier killed in Iraq.
Don't you think the Bush people knew Cindy Sheehan was in the gallery as well and would be concerned about her reaction once the time came for Bush to acknowledge the fallen soldier's family. I don't think this was just the Capitol police at work here.
