Did Bush advocate bombing Al-Jazeera?

The White House says the charge is so "outlandish" that it won't respond.

Dr. Strangelove

I'm picturing Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld or George Bush himself riding a bomb down on Al-Jazeera's offices just like Slim Pickins in Dr. Strangelove.

Targeting Al-Jazeera

"The Daily Mirror reported that Bush spoke of targeting Al-Jazeera's headquarters in Doha, Qatar, when he met Blair at the White House on April 16, 2004. The Bush administration has regularly accused Al-Jazeera of being nothing more than a mouthpiece for anti-American sentiments."

--Associated Press

If left unchecked, would the Bush Administration have bombed The Washington Post and (portions of) The New York Times for being "disloyal" mouthpieces?

assuming that this is true...

if this story can be independently confirmed, than this little nugget alone is enough to begin the impeachment process on this sick little boy of a president.

Our nation is being led by a man who wanted to initiate a military strike against a civilian target based in a friendly country a long, long way away from the theater of operations of his debacle of a war. Think about that for a moment.

At least Nixon had the common sense to know he couldn't get away with bombing the Brookings Institution.

It's All About Perceptions

In a recent conservative(CNN) staw poll of a statistically significant sample of almost 7000, 70% said Bush talked about bombing Al-Jazeera. As the charge is not "outlandish" to 7 out of 10 Americans, failure to respond is Nixonian in its desperation. Another 5 percentage points drop in Chief34% FallingFast's approval rating will herald the Nixon reality. Resign or be impeached, Mr. President, the Constitution says we're running a democracy here.

Killing journalists

When the White House says something is outlandish that makes it pretty close to a proven truth. You should know that in England the Official Secrets Act is being used to suppress further developments in this story.
