How about a two for one deal. Miller should show Sulzberger how since he has to be a real dimwit to have let her 'run amok' as he has.
Knowing that the technicalities preventing such a thing are probably endless, I believe that NYT, Miller, et al should suffer civil if not criminal penalties for their hand in the Iraq war. That she has the audacity to request a severance package indicates her hubris and her complete lack of responsibility for her part in the now 2,001 dead warriors.
That said a severance package may be at least a small penalty that the NYT would not have paid otherwise. Somehow the tarnish to their reputation does not seem quite enough.

After I posted my initial letter I thought of some possible new avenues of employment for Judy Miller:
1) The Fox Network. Somebody needs to stick loofahs up Bill O'Reilly's butt, or blow that brain-atrophied monkey bow Sean Hannity. Judy Miller would gladly do so.
2) Guest columnist on Jeff "Jillylube" Hot Army Action Stud Gannon's excuse for a website. Gannon can't write, tell the truth, or formulate linear thoughts -- and look how far he's come (ba-dump-bump!). Judy Miller is Gannon's literary equal.
The only thing the Times should say to Judy Miller now should include the words "door" and "your behind!"
The only severence package Judy Miller deserves is a swift kick to the curb followed by the words, "And stay out!"
That she is an embarrassment to journalism is a given; that she is a traitor and a threat to national security -- a tool for the Rove/Cheney-led Bush Crime Operation -- is doubly disturbing. The only editorial she should be allowed to write is an apology to the families of the dead, people she helped to kill, in this insane and illegal "war."
Judy Miller is nobody's hero -- unless you work for Halliburton.
