Will Frist, DeLay, Rove, Libby, and Cheney all be sent to decay in the same Yucca Mountain-type federal prison, or will they be foisted like highly toxic waste on penitentiaries around the country? Does the federal prison system have enough beds for all the corrupt Republicons running the government these days?
Perhaps they'll have to build a new for this in the image of Spandau...Abu-GOP?
I believe that it is also accurate that the GAO has found the use of public money to hire commentators to push No Child Left Behind to be illegal. This story may still be on the back burner--but it could end up being important.
I can't wait to see the mug shot!
What worries me is that as long as the GOP remains firmly in control of congress, how will any of these nefarious misdeeds, or any other, ever be properly prosecuted?
Even if Bush himself, for instance, could ever be proven do have done something impeachable -- does anyone really think he would face the consequences?
I don't think we're going to be able to fix or right any of the wrongs done to the country in the past 5 years until we solidly regain control of the legislature.

Watching McClellan bloviate, then spin, then crash while trying to protect his masters from the increasingly obvious truth kept reminding me of someone. Who was it? Who was it? Oh yeah, THIS GUY:

Please stop using the suffix "gate" i.e "Plamegate". I realize Watergate was the benchmark for political scandal a generation ago but please, let this next generation of scandal stand on its own two feet. Allow it the dignity of stepping into the light on its own merits, without having to constantly be compared to its forefather. I promise, if you allow these new scandals that, they will no doubt make you proud to be not only a journalist covering them, but proud to be an American.
While Bob Ney's legal problems may be well known to Salon and its readers, these are far less well known to voters in his district.
This is because - despite articles about him appearing in the Washington Post, Newsweek, and elsewhere - local newspapers and television stations serving his district have entirely failed to report on this matter.
It defies credibility to believe that these news organizations are unaware of Ney's mounting legal challenges; and obviously this should be a major story for them.
Accordingly, this apparent news blackout is quite odd and suggests that some circumstances in his district (formerly represented by Wayne L. Hayes) may be unusual.
I've got a friend that's involved in the Frist case. This person says there's really nothing there to get him on, and believe me, this person would be as excited as a lot of other people to see Frist get slammed. But it appears he didn't do anything wrong, so he shouldn't be punished. We shouldn't inflate this too much. It would only lead to disappointment.
I wonder if use of torture will also come back around to cause the repubs some legal issues. I'd heard or read a few months back some statement that more pictures & video? - possibly worse than the first batch might be coming out. I hadn't thought too much of it until today when I was tuning in a radio station. On the way to the radio station I wanted I passed a conservative talk radio station. They were talking about how it would be immoral NOT to use torture when the "individual" (not human or person) you were "working on" might have information that could save the lives of 25 innocent US soldiers. Makes we wonder if the repub media machine has been instructed to start a program to indoctrinate their base in the torture=okay idea. May also serve to further explain the administration's resistance to having US personnel prosecutable by a world court on human rights abuses...
Anyone hear anything more about Abu Ghraib recently? Also, doesn't it seem like that rolled out of the news cycle pretty quickly given what it was about? Guess it's time to hit the CBC or BBC . . .
