"Looming Defeat"?
Did you hear the Japanese bombed San Francisco and Dewey won?

Advice for Hillary
Hillary should divorce Bill Clinton immediately after his pathetic appearance dissing Obama. I think If she did that, everyone would be immensely relieved and vote her into officel

Uh
she's a volunteer. Who's not going to participate directly in the presidential effort. That's a "shake-up?"
-
"Defeat looms"?
Hey, hold your horses - is the NH primary over already and you have a seer who tells the future sitting right next to you? Early returns show a tie between Clinton and Obama.
Go join the rest of the Hillary-pounders in the MSM, Mr Shapiro.
-
You'd fit right in
Mr. Shapiro, Joe Klein and Michael Scherer need you to make a three-way. Questions? See Glenn Greenwald and he'll fill you in.
-
Whose feet loom?!
I have a foot issue so I have to know, whose feet are they?!
-
A crisis-management person...
Sounds about right.

Forget horserace.
This is a car race and now we're getting minute-by-minute updates on who's on the pit crew.
What's Clinton's opinion on the war now?

The Gloves Could Be Coming Off
If Clinton loses this thing in NH, I would not at all be surprised to see her take the gloves off and beat the living bejeezus out of Obama.
Her tears, which I believe to have been genuine, reminded me of the picture of Nancy Kerrigan after getting clubbed by Tonya Harding's goon, blubbering, "Why me? Whyyyyyyyyy?"
It's about her. Bill has been out there whining about the Media giving Obama a Hall Pass. Before it was the right wing media that went after the poor, persecuted Clintons. Now, apparently it is the left wing media.
If she loses, she will unload everything she has on that guy, as that is the only way the Clintons know how to react. I also think it will backfire on her badly.
National polls have these two even nationally. If Obama wins, there should be a modest bounce. If Clinton wins, it will be a function of the expectation game as to what happens to her bounce or at least stop her free fall.
She will get nasty before she does anything else. She and Bill can't help themselves. It's the only way they know how to campaign.

Romney's Silver Speech
is almost as creepy to listen to as it is to read the low blows at Hillary and Clinton from my fellow posters here at Salon.com.

Looks like Clinton has a 1.9% lead at the time of this posting.
FYI

the Clintons and their persecution complex
Color me tired of it. I used to defend them a lot. Now I'm just sick of it. The right wing smear machine, the treacherous liberals media. Shut the f up Bill and Hill. It is true you haven't always been treated fairly. And you think that's going to change so dramatically that Hillary can actually win the mainstream election? In your dreams. What even more important, the Clintons are amoral politically. The sorta lean left. Kinda. Except when they can throw someone under the bus and lean right. Bill made serious mistakes that hurt liberal causes. But we aren't allowed to criticize them. That's why they remind me of the Bush administration. I'd take the Clintons any day. But both teams have utter contempt for voters and utter contempt for the process. Hillary packs her gatherings with partisans and has plants in the crowd to ask questions. Same as Bush, who we all bashed for doing the same thing.
If Hillary is going to run on a "change" platform she will lose because the voters understand that you can't possibly run on change when your campaign is backed by the same group of Clinton administration flunkies that we had in 1992. Times change. It's actually 2008 now. Turn the page on that era.

Defeat looms for Shapiro
Sorry, Walter, but you and all the other angry old white men in the media are going to have to swallow your machismo.
Women make up 57% of the electorate. We're really tired of the pathology of Hillary hatred, and your incessant vitriol toward her. Against all your hopes, SHE WON!!

Well Played
"..expected defeat in the New Hampshire primary.."
"..riding to the rescue... "
"...floundering Clinton campaign..."
It looks like this whole punditry thing isn't really working out for you, but I hear there's an opening at Maxim for a movie reviewer with the skills displayed in this piece.

What crappy reporting
Why did you assume that defeat was imminent for Clinton?
The polls were inconclusive. Iowa is thousands of miles away.
You guys all need to go retake your Journalism 101 classes.
