"Compassionate Conservatism, Redux"
If I hear one more "hate the sin; love the sinner" piece of drivel spewed from the putrid lips of yet another BornAgain bigot, I'm going to immediately throttle him/her with my bare hands! (I think I can find some Old Testament scripture to back me up there, too!)
No, this is more of the faux "kinder, gentler" Christian Conservatism that those folks who are the cold-heart and empty-soul of the Republican party love to trumpet; what they won't trumpet, however, is that the old and vicious anti-gay feelings have simply been re-wrapped and re-packaged in softer cloth.
The time for action has come; the time for inaction has ended. Faced with the potential election of yet another of these unctious bigots, direct action may be justified.
I, for one, am not content to sit idly by while my country veers farther to the right into abject intolerence, ignorance and inequality. I don't believe that I'm alone, either.
