Why is Palin lying about state ethics probes?

She says Alaska spent "millions" probing "frivolous" issues. The cost was far less and some complaints were serious

My dear teresa,

POSH!

Democrats, Republicans, the MSM, the WAR industry and Wall Street are to blame.

Who sent our jobs and manufacturing overseas?

Who got us in debt to China?

Who sold us Wars?

Who sold us SUVs? (nice tax break, eh?)

Who allowed mortgage companies to go PIRATE?

Who has ripped off taxpayers for BIllions, and Trillions of dollars?

Who lied to all of us?

Who is incapable of telling the truth?

Who supports the prison industry?

Who is for the War on Drugs?

Who is for getting everyone hooked on happy pills?

Who is responsible for DTV? (after the switch I lost half my channels and I have a digital set.)

Democrats, Republicans, the MSM, the WAR industry and Wall Street, that's who.

You got some serious tunnel vision there with your strawman argument that you link to, wel, those two assholes are in charge of screwing us over now so you can stop blaming Sarah. She didn't get elected.

Next time someone rips you off for your life savings, take out a loan and bail them out. WWOD?

no! - readerreader I'm the one who has the vision and is always right! -

didn't I write days ago: what is so odd about trying to get out of boring bad payed politics and starting traveling all across the country staying at every available Ritz Carlton (or better) - Giving stupid speeches for adoring idiots and a pottful of money and finally wearing Prada without a bad conscious? - And why are so called 'Political Pundits' (like Joan) - are unable to comprehend that 'Show Biz' could be soo much more satisfying? -

and now this: ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The former fiance of Gov. Sarah Palin's 18-year-old daughter says he thinks he knows why the Alaska governor is resigning _ concerns over money.

Levi Johnston, 19, whose wedding to Bristol Palin was called off earlier this year, says he believes the governor is resigning over personal finances.

Johnston says he lived with the Palin family from early December to the second week in January. He claims he heard the governor several times say how nice it would be to take advantage of the lucrative deals that were being offered, including a reality show and a book.

"I think the big deal was the book. That was millions of dollars," said Johnston, who has had a strained relationship with the family but now says things have improved.

@Readerreader

Readerreader: "By the way, why am I the only person in the blogosphere who unequivocally believes in option 2?"

Here is a better question: Why is it important for you to have a belief on the subject? More importantly, what is your motive for promoting your belief? What do you think it accomplishes? It is, ultimately, just a belief. If borne out, I suppose you get to gloat; if unfulfilled, I suppose you can then "pivot" (to use your favorite word). But what is any of this good for?

You seem to look at Sarah Palin as some sort of mythical, archetypal, bigger-than-life phenomenon. You keep wanting to promote your belief via comparison. Evidently you want everybody else to see how Palin fits into the grand, inspiring narrative that you've decided she's a part of.

Okay.

But. What. Does. This. Have. To. Do. With. Anything?

I just see her as a person. I also see her as a politician. There are many politicians. Many of them are interesting in a variety of ways. I like to know about the moves they make and strings they pull. I like to know their histories.

What I don't like is to turn them into sports heroes.

Ultimately, these people are supposed to be our servants. The days of kings and queens are over. This is a democracy and these are our representatives. That means they are supposed to do things that benefit us.

So maybe you should be asking what it is that Sarah Palin will do that might benefit our society at this point in time. I know you think she's neat and groovy. Fine. What will she do for us? I know you think she'll figure it out as she goes, because she has so much moxie and gumption. But what, tangibly, do you think she can do to better society? (Outlaw abortion? That it?)

You need to start talking about the things real adults care about, and stop talking about her like you're a smitten fanboy or a sports commentator. Come on, you can do it. You can pivot.

Liar's Lair

The Alaskan lair of the liar will soon be deserted and the lair of the liar becomes the profitable lower 48 and the lemmings who will contribute to advancement of their Goddess of Faux Victimhood. Keep drinking those Quarts of Stupid being freely provided by your Pariah Palin.

AuntieSlats -- Unfortunately, Joan showed her high regard for free speech by deleting Virtue's last post.

Unless, I'm missing something, when I went back to see if Joan had finally responded to Virtue's question, his last post was gone. And there was nothing crude or vulgar in it as far as I can remember. He just said he never really expects Joan own up to those instances of sexism at Salon he pointed out. And that by reposting it now and then, he reminds everyone what a phony she is. Or something like that.

Nothing worthy of deleting. Apparently Joan is now playing Big Brother.

Ms Walsh is Lying

Ms Walsh, your accusation that Palin lied about her claim that these ethic complaint against her cost Alaska millions but in actual fact only $256,000, is completely incorrect. You should have done some research before you accuse Palin about her claim.

For your cost data, you only quote once source, the Anchorage Daily News which only gave the legal fees hired by the government to investigate these complaints. You completely ignore all other costs including government personel costs processing these complaints; Palin’s own personal time spent in dealing these complaints; costs expended by the complaining party who spent time, taking a quote from one of the complainant,

"They had to go down and follow her all over the ends of the Earth to get her deposed," McLeod said. "Sarah Palin is costing the state a hell of a lot more than just this amount.

McLeod is one the complainants. On top of all these, Palin has to spend over $600,000 from her own pocket.

When Palin said these complaints cost the State millions, she is closer to the truth and it is you, Ms Walsh who by reporting only partial information to mislead the readers and accuse Palin of lying. Shame on you.
