One reason you continue to be amazed at all of the "palinpalooza" is that you continue to promote it on this site. She was a fluke. If you want to continue to dissect the story of Sarah, you should focus on McCain. She was just a fluke. Clearly, she does not warrant all of the press. She is an embarrassment because she is clearly in a phase of her personality disorder and she needs the privacy of her family and her state in which to sort it out. Call it what it is. Why not obscess about Joe The Plumber? It's the same thing. She needs to be ignored. She has removed herself from the public arena, ON HER TERMS, which means she will be thrusting herself out there on a continuing basis and, should anyone criticize her, she will sue. So, if I were the media/press, I would just ignore her.
Reading these comments after reading Coulter's latest column absolutely made my day. "I am so over her."
Joan, big props to you for calling this one out and continuing to question the facts. I didn't read through all the letters here but have spotted the spreadsheet at Progressive Alaska:

Nice job, Joan.
I enjoyed your verbal engagement with Mr Christie yesterday on MSNBC and really need to compliment you on your ability to keep from outright demanding that he get real. Of all of the Republican tools that they have assembled, he is the only one who I have never witnessed admitting that the Repubs were wrong, out of step with We the People, overstepped legal boundries, don't have minds of their own, etc....I cannot tell by looking into his eyes.....is he real?
Joan needs to do a little more unbiased investigation. MANY of these are frivolous. How else would one find issue with an ethics complaint about her using funds from a trust set up to defend ethics complaints to....defend against ethics complaints?
Joan really needs to stop being such a hater.
"It does list roughly $1.9 million in expenditures.
But Murrow, the spokesperson, acknowledged to our reporter, Amanda Erickson, that this total was arrived at by adding up attorney hours spent on fending off complaints — based on the fixed salaries of lawyers in the governor’s office and the Department of Law. The money would have gone to the lawyers no matter what they were doing."
Thanks for acknowleding the $1.9 million.
You resort to the typical liberal tactic, whereby the standard means of representing facts is suddenly altered in order to prop up your illogical position.
If those lawyers who were paid for their work on the investigations, would have been paid anyway, as in; they had nothing better to do with the Alaskan tax-payers money, . . . maybe they should be fired, and the money spent on their wages can be used elsewhere, or returned to the tax-payers.
Or maybe we should be honest and recognize that joan's got her facts wrong.
Palin's waaaay hotter than your sagging boomer ass...relevant, on a level you aren't even aware of Ms. Walsh. Nothing infuriates an unattractive boomer woman more than a hot thing, that doesn't play by her rules. I'd bet my house there isn't a single attractive female intern in Salon and if there is one, she's treated like crap by the post-mid-life females in the Salon offices. MEOW!
You can dismount from your high horse right now Ms. Walsh. Anyone who employs Camille Paglia to write a monthly column propping up this dangerous farce in the name of the common man does not get to be taken seriously when examining the media's "Palin problem".
Those in glass houses and all that
I never said it was OK I stated merely there are bigger fish to fry that have connections to many billions in fraud and waste. What is it costing us about $50,000.00 to collect each dollar alleged against ethics misappropriation of funds by Palin? I know your liberal but try using the concept of cost effectiveness. It's only cost effective for purely political implications to stop anyone who gains enough momentum outside of the approval of the Wall St Mullahs who may attempt to run for a National Office and threaten an end to the big money status quo of Washington corruption. Somebody who actually plans to bring about what Obama promised, an end to Washington business as usual, Change and transparancy and a government accountable to the people.
Huh, Joan? Clean your own house!
From where I sit, your online mag helps to distribute all kinds of shameful lies via the fumescent columns of Camille Paglia (who is a little in love with your nemesis Sarah Palin--rapt with admiration for her "gutsiness" --who actually stated that Palin "cleaned Joe Biden's clock" in the VP debates! On what planet?!). She loves to just splatter her crap out to see where it might stick. Crap like how noble talk radio is (though it spews hatred 24/7 throughout the country, enabling such dittoheads as Sarah Palin and her supporters), what a lie climate change is, what a pathetic liar and human being Al Gore was (which is downright slander), and on and on, each time out, a festering sore of half-truths, grandiose and unsupported claims, and triviality.
You're her boss, so you should be editing her. Follow your own advice and make her accountable. For starters, make her stop writing her own letters to herself. It's a giant joke, she can't keep her own supercilious tone, level of triviality, and overwrought vocabulary out of these "reader-letters." Make her produce one of them to prove she didn't write them in the guise of one of her "fans."
Unless hers is truly just a humor column, in which case it should be labeled as such. As it stands, you give her a voice and you don't mediate it and she takes advantage of you, just like Sarah Palin takes advantage of a lazy, pliable, undereducated, and gossip-seeking national media. Every time Paglia lies, exaggerates, postulates nonsense, some conservative ignoramus is handed a bit of "expert opinion" or for gods'sake "factual proof" of his or her illiberal beliefs. And the lies are kept alive and used against the truth.
