Why is Palin lying about state ethics probes?

She says Alaska spent "millions" probing "frivolous" issues. The cost was far less and some complaints were serious

    she can't not lie

Sarah Palin is a habitual, compulsive, unrepentant, liar. (I hope Senator Franken some day dedicates a chapter to her in an updated edition of "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them.")

Last summer I came across a story about Palin from waaaaaaay back when- before she was mayor of Wasilla, but truly a simple "hockey mom" and homemaker. The story was about a celebrity (I forget who, Streisand?) peddling a book, and making a stop in Alaska. Palin was waiting in line to get her copy of the book signed, and was interviewed by her local paper. Palin gushed about Alaskans needing glamor, and freely admitted that she'd told her husband she was shopping, instead of telling him she was hoping to meet a celebrity.

I remember thinking "Wow. She lied to her husband. About something so completely trivial. And then told a reporter she'd lied. How stupid is this woman?" She has become so used to lying, so unfamiliar with telling the truth, she can not stop lying.

As for why this particular aspect (and let's cue readerreader's telling us how this is actually brilliant and sexy in 3 ... 2 .... 1 ... ) of her borderline personality isn't discussed more critically in the media, I couldn't guess.
