"Knocked Up" is a witty little axiom that generally denotes being made pregnant without the benefit of wedlock, as in...you know...Bristol Palin being knocked up by Levi Johnston prior to being paraded on stage at the 2008 Republican National Convention.

Obviously, since there was a clear reference point for anyone above auto-mnemonic levels of awareness, Mr. Letterman was alluding to Bristol, and not the underage Willow, who still lives under the Palin's somewhat loose (if previous events can be relied upon) supervision.

Even though Bristol was indeed "knocked up" while living at home and sadly, underaged prior to high school graduation, Mr. Letterman's salty aside about a certain overpaid professional baseball player impregnating a Palin daughter was too juicy a target for the Wasilla brain trust to let go, considering the devastating spot on nature of the joke.

To mask their deserved embarrassment, a what they thought was an oh-so-subtle campaign to smear Mr. Letterman was promulgated by the Palin camp.

"...plus, it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman" came an ominous response to an invitation from the Letterman Show for the Quitter to appear thereon as an olive branch.

As Bob Dylan famously sang, "You don't need a weatherman..."

At worst, this is blatant accusation of pedophilia directed at Mr. Letterman. At best, it's a subtle accusation of pedophilia directed at Mr. Letterman.

This woman and her handlers are diaphanous frauds, and of course, too clever by half.

Yet, there are some that still love her so.

After seeing her resignation speech, does anyone still believe that Trig is the retarded one in the Palin family?
