Odd Palin lawyer letter follows odd Palin speech

Don't peddle "Housegate" rumors, lawyer tells media, which sparks more "Housegate" stories, naturally

@virtue001

I don't know if anyone has answered this yet. Forgive me if this is a repeat, but this level of idiocy can't go unnoticed.

"Kilchis -- I truly doubt you were ever in Vietnam. The fact that you say you were "ashamed of having served" gives you away bigtime"

-VIRTUE001

"I'm not ashamed of having served"

"Like I say, there's nothing to be ashamed of but let's not trump it up like we were at Valley Forge,Iwo Jima or Cholin."

-Kilchis

Look, "virtue," you don't have enough credibility on hand to go pissing it away like that.

The pattern of Virtue001 and all self-identifying republicans today

I saw that you admitted your error, but couldn't bring yourself to apologize for calling a veteran a fraud. "Virtue," indeed.

Then there was your response to XH's arguments that the Palin articles were not misogynist. Your response consisted essentially of "nuh uh," but otherwise had absolutely zero to back that up. You couldn't even begin to address XH's points.

These two examples show a pattern of someone who is so emotionally invested in his conclusions, that no dissenting facts can be accommodated whatsoever. This best describes a zealot, a dogmatist, a doctrinaire, a bigot.

To which I'm sure your response will be (to quote from Big Lebowski), "Well that's just, like, your opinion, man."

I finally get it...

Sarah Palin is a quitter, because...unlike any woman heretofore, she was the prmary focus of all of the misogyny in the world, specifically the merry band of women-haters that roam the virtual halls of Salon.com.

Bolstering her laudable quitter bonafides, the Barracuda was further justified smearing a late-night comedian as a pedophile because he plied his specific trade by making an aside about one of her daughter's pregnancy without the benefit of clergy.

Ex post facto, this also justifies dear Sarah's venal slander of our current President, suggesting he cavorts giddily with terrorists.

It's not an easy rational path of reasoning to follow, but patience is a virtue in figuring it all out.

@Juliebird

This is total supposition on my part. Unless there is some friggin' in the rigging that has yet to be exposed, there is no apparent point to bailing out of the state government. I'd doubt she can convince anyone that she's being altruistic. There are so many ways to speculate that I really have no way to begin, were I so inclined.

The lawyer bit just looks like it is begging for speculation though. It just grabs me as a "Please don't throw me in that brier patch" sort of statement. More of a goad than a serious warning. A documented false allegation would be valuable to fall back on if there was a valid allegation down the road.

Barring pathological insanity or complete idiocy (and I doubt either), this is all I can come up with. It does make me wonder what was worth such an expensive distraction though. As I said, it's speculation.

Boo! Hoo!

Sarah thinks she has it bad? It was people like her that made Bill and Hillary Clinton's lives a living hell from the day he announced he was running for President and still haven't let up almost 20 years later! The only reason I think Hillary would not have won the election, because that's all some people knew about her. Were the lies that the right wing press spread about Hillary! So I can not feel a gram of sympathy for Sarah. She was treated extremely well considering the ignorant extremist she is. She obviously is not suited to hold the highest office in the land. If what little the press had to say bothers her that much. Considering all the mud she threw at Obama during the campaign. She needs to set down and shut up before she looks like more of hypocrite than she already does.

You want fish, Sarah? Oh, I'll give you fish...

By deftly playing her severely limited cards, Sarah Palin transformed herself from a big fish in a small pond into a whale in a guppy bowl.

Good for her.

But she'll never become President of the United States. She has three personality/temperament traits that are deadly for anyone involved in politics on the national level:

1. She has extremely thin skin.

2. She takes all disagreements personally.

3. She is petty, spiteful, and vindictive.

Add to the above mix the fact that she can't utter a coherent sentence (unless someone else wrote it...and she's reading it from a teleprompter). And the fact that she knows nothing about complex issues and is too lazy to learn. And the probability that few people, outside of a limited demographic within the Republican party, will ever find her appealing.

Did she resign because some new Wasillian scandal is a-brewin'? Possibly. My guess is that, as she indicated in her rambling resignation speech, she's not having fun as governor anymore, and she would rather spend her time making highly-paid speeches to adoring crowds of the GOP base...for whom she has tremendous charm and appeal.

The gravy train is passing...and her ticket has a time-stamp on it.

The perfect birthday present for Joan.

I know what Joan would really like for her birthday. A little Sarah Palin turd that she could put under a microscope and examine and examine and examine. Oh, that would be so much better than a pony!

Wow this is almost as irrelvant as MJ

Salon prattling on about yet another political has-been. Wow, tickle me I'm dreaming.

Sarah Palin's political career isn't over because she resigned

She resigned because her political career is over.

She's a humbug! She knows it! She knows her humbuggery is not a secret!

I think the media and Dems and Republicans (and everyone here) are misreading the causation and are off hunting snipes together.

Palin checked off a lot of boxes for McCain: young(er), female, beautiful, from the West, etc. But there was nothing of substance INSIDE those boxes.

Palin didn't get tougher treatment because she was a female, she got more deferential treatment. A male humbug would have been exposed and resigned long before Palin.

Palin plays a sort of parody of the kind of tough-ass Alaskan woman that may well someday be President. Maybe Piper or Willow or Mugwort or whatever she calls those girls will school Gov. MILF on how politics should be done. Palin is just a pretty cheechako from Idaho.

Next.
