Sarah Palin resigning as Alaska governor

The Wasilla soap opera just gets weirder as Palin complains critics are "picking apart a good point guard"

@Villagejonesy -- Cleland could not defend pandering

No homeland security? Some things take precedence like the patriot act where paranoia set in over wiretapping. If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear.

Cleland had no defense for holding up progress and pandering to special interests so Chambliss won. Very simple. Pushing the war injury angle begs explanation from investigative reporters like Coulter. (boo) (boo) (hiss)

@xrandadu

Well, well done - all your refutations and attempts to engage on facts rather than name calling and innuendo. All this calling for the WAAAAAaa-mbulance about "this ain't fair, where's Miss Joan, she should be moderating and whacking the knuckles of the mean people" is interesting too. I think Joan is probably taking a well deserved weekend off and may be back tomorrow to step in. Or not. There have been some interesting discussions here over this weekend, but I think I'm not going to directly engage any more trolls (I'm looking at you, terkoy) who avoid and won't address points brought up and just sling crap, like a bunch of monkeys.

HAVE A NICE LIFE

Good riddance to one of the biggest neo-con jackasses of this century!! Have a nice life you moron!!!! Those are about the most intelligable things I can think of for Ms. Palin. Her poor kids have to put up with pea-brained parents like those two? How tragic!

Kerry quacks like a liberal, the haughty one (who served in Vietnam)

All the signs are there, even the Kerry-engineered schtick with Cleland in Crawford. Whatta buncha crap.

So Kerry went to the highest bidder. Goody. Who could live with either one of those freaks? Imagine that First Lady.

Thank goodness someone called his hand on the Vietnam scam. It all helped open people's eyes to the fraud. I'll never forget the embedded piece of rice that generated a Purple Heart.

Kerry is typical liberal low-life scum, sleaze, trash and garbage who might have been president.

How'dy Uncle Fester

Couldn't get back to you sooner. It is a pity that defenders of obama become sarcastic to nasty.

Look go back in you charts to 1933. Gold was 20 dollar/ounce.

Essentially that indicated that the dollar was strong. Then Roosevelt depreciated the value of the dollar by increasing the number of dollars it required to buy an ounce of gold. Right? The dollar depreciateion intentionally engineered by Roosevelt was from 20 dollars/ounce to 35 dollars/ounch that is a 75 % devaluation of the dollars. It didn't do a damned thing. Then he simply outlawed the ownership of gold so that the dollar could go anywhere he wanted it to go. Finally Nixon prohibited the sale of gold for dollars from foreign countires. The price of gold v the Swiss Franc has been much moe stable than the dollar v gold."Correct?

BTW your remark about gold bottoming out, bear market in gold etc? Well that again indicdates a strong dollar. More gold for fewer dollars ? There is some inverse relationship between gold and the dollar, just as there is a more clear cut one between the price of a bond and it's yield.

Everyonoe has had their hand in this. Yes the dollar depreciated more under the Bush administration. We had a totally out of control congress both Repub and Dem and he signed the rediculous spending bills, eg transportation and Ag subsidies.

my concern is that the Chinese are slowing down their purchase of our treasuries and they are getting rid of their dollars by buying up all the nateural resources that they can as fast as they can. They obviously don't believe that the dollar will get stronger. They must believe that we will cheat them by simply cheapening the dollar so that we can pay them their bond interest with cheaper dollars. That's not good.

What with the hugh spending plans of Obama and his financial gang, we ought to worry. If no one buys our bonds we will have to print money to buy them ourselves and can you say Weimer Republic?

Going back to fdarmj subsidies. There are huge subsidies going to Sutton Place addresses in New York. I once worked up there and I never did see a bean field-- have you?

@mogroith (with a star) -- Have some respect for President Palin

She will be our salvation...even you hard-core lefties with a star. She won't discriminate.

Baracky only gets 40% and blacks are having voters' remorse.

60% will vote for anyone but O'Bama. Anyone. They may drop their guard and vote for the (shudder) Mormon.

Then all of Baracky's socialism will be de-funded and a Reagan renaissance will take place.

Lucky you.

@Joan: I find it stunning that you take such glee in the “rolling hilarity” of Palin’s "meltdown" after your humiliating performance on O’Reilly.

I would have thought you might have found some compassion in your heart for her after what you just went through, particularly because you claim to be a feminist. But I’m realizing now that you really only stand up for feminism when you want to play the victim card. Like when you called O'Reilly a "misogynist nutjob" after he humiliated you. Do you really believe THAT'S the reason he reacted to you the way he did -- because he's a "misogynist"? Don’t you think the fact that you tried to link him to a murder was the more likely motivator? There’s an awful lot of hate on this thread, Joan. And isn’t that exactly what you accused O’Reilly of inciting? Didn't you accuse him of getting people riled up with hateful rhetoric? And you’re different than him HOW?

@mogroith

Hey Mogroith, thanks, and enjoy the rest of your Happy U.S. 233rd Birthday...

Cuchulain2007 is an American hero.

It's people like you who make me proud to be a liberal.

Sunday, July 5, 2009 06:24 AM

Xrandadu Hutman too.

I salute you.

@ shelllouise

Here's a clue that what I wrote is parody:

"We torture for the tortured Jesus! Amen!!! And we will torture you too so that you can understand the love of our PERSONAL lord and savior."

Neocon christianists, with their defenses of torture and their simultaneous worship of the tortured Jesus, would never actually connect those two dots.

If I loved near terkoy, I would sell computer keyboards.

Imagine how often that man must replace his, given that he suckles at the man boobs of Rove and Limbaugh before he posts. Now, imagine all that man milk dripping into his keyboard. They can't last long.

Terkoy, wipe your mouth!
