Menopausal meltdown for sure!!! She should stay home--those kids could use a "hands on" Mother!
You are right about why Joan is kept on. Actually, though, I like Camille. I see her as calling it as she actually sees it. Old Joan here is actually drawing an audience because Palin is quite the lightning rod for the hysterical.
Let us not question Mz. Palin's decision. She spoke to God and God spoke to her. Or, something like that....
Cuchulain2007 hits the nail on the head. Perhaps the right wing's cabal of master planners thought Orwell was advocating double speak as a tool. Their methods are cynical and betray their Dorian Gray like souls.
I have a modest proposal -- all right wingers, inclusive of libertarians, the self-righteous religious right - Christian or other, bigots, racists, homophobes, anti-Semites, all haters of the other, American-global free marketeers, fans of Rush, Sarah, Fox News -- shall relocate to the Philippines to experience the impact their selfishness and evil brings upon a population.
I have never heard such a disjointed, confused, unorganized speech in my life-um, unless you count Gov.Sanford. How many years did they say it took for her to get her journalism degree? If she thinks that doing some TV or radio gig, or just campaigning for 4 years is going to cause instant credentials to appear-then she is living in a fantasy that even a Disney movie would be embarrassed to trot forth! Finishing out her term with some serious nose to the grindstone work, getting a REAL education in international affairs, economics, law and history. Proving herself worthy of being elected by ALL the people, instead of just the hypocrites and intolerant, hatefilled sliver of the country-all of these things would have been a valid use of her time and may, just may, have given her a little credibility to BEGIN seeking a lower level national post-but even full time study wouldn't give her the ethical remake, judgement, temperment, or intellectual gravitas to EVER be president of the United States. She's just this side of Michelle Bachmann, in my book-downright scary.
Oh, and I never, never, heard anyone in any capacity mock her little boy-only HER.
If it was parody, I missed it. Hard to tell parody from the real thing. I admit I do not hang out much on these sites.
That explains the irrational behavior.
This woman is as crazy as a hoot owl. Her speech is unintelligible. What did she say?
Yes, "brave" Sarah Palin, as someone called her below. "Brave!" It reminds me of Monty Python:
"When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled; brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin;"
(Minstrel: "Sir Robin was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways; his tongue cut out and his bottom burnt off and his penis--"
Robin: "Uh, that's enough music for now, thanks!")
Well if someone is stupid enough, and immoral enough, to countenance the smearing of Max Cleland, who lost three limbs in service to this country, and John Kerry, who served in Vietnam, by a Republican party whose standard-bearers, Bush and Cheney, avoided serving themselves, and illogical enough to crown such people spokesmen for the military, after they tried to cut military hazard pay and VA health care. It's the same sort of thing.
There was a Doonesbury cartoon once, where a frustrated professor ended up yelling at his students, "Black is White! Night is Day!" Then, the students say to one another: "Wow, this is really interesting!" "You said it! I didn't know half this stuff!"
That quitter sure is a fighter! A Brave fighter. Grow a spine, Palin. But before you do that, do some reading--and thinking.

You've got it, bg. Thanks for the offer :D) Terkoy just plays hard to get, anyway. You ask for specifics, any specifics at all, about how Obama is "Marxist," or even "neoMarxist," and what specifically is objectionable about this Marxism, and no payoff. Just flashing me the name "Marxist!" for a second and running away every time, but never going all the way. Sigh.
My first thought when I heard Sarah Palin was abruptly resigning was that she or one of her progeny is pregnant. The fact that all of her family voted yes to her resignation is consistent with this possibility.
Second, if not procreation it must be some scandal that is about to be exposed - probably financial or possibly sexual (she is a religious republican in power and we know their track record - power goes directly to the gonads bypassing the brain). The fact that this "press conference" was quickly thrown together and poorly executed implies it couldn't wait. Plus her foreshadowing that more would be revealed adds credence to the likelihood that she had to resign for some reason.
It sounds like her replacement is another religious republican. Here is hoping that the tide is turning in Alaska and they will elect someone that will represent all the people of Alaska.
Micro-managing the nanny state of America is what it's all about. Can't do it without banks, cars, energy in harness; basic socialism. Do as I say not as I do. You're drinking too much, eating too much, smoking too much, driving too much, and, as in Europe, these activities must be curtailed.
There was no hilarity immediately following Sarah Palin's announcement. I was watching CNN at the time, flipping back and forth from CNN to Fox. Indeed, there was puzzlement and a great deal of speculation. Following that initial shock, came the negative comments from some.
Although, I am neutral on Sarah Palin, I do think the media has been unusually harsh towards her. The media is unethical in the sense that it has the power to completely destroy anyone it wants to, it knows it, and it does it. The media can create news when there is none. They can take the most innocent event and make it look bad.
I watched those in the media who attempted to destroy her. My memory also recalls its treatment of Michael Jackson in the past. Its criticism of President Bush was unrelenting and totally disrespectful considering he was our President. Let's see what happens to Governor Sanford. He's well on his way to being totally demolished. No one is exempt, not even, the media's beloved Obama. His time is coming. Whether anyone deserves it or not, should not give the media allowance to annihilate another person. They take their 'freedom of speech' rights way beyond common decency. Actually, all of this says more about the character of those in the media than it does about those who are being criticized.
