Sarah Palin resigning as Alaska governor

The Wasilla soap opera just gets weirder as Palin complains critics are "picking apart a good point guard"

The letters thread is now closed.

why we don't like Sarah Palin

As a fellow Christian, I would just like to give a Biblical reason why I don't trust Sarah Palin's political career, and in general the way Jesus has been used for personal ambition, power, money, and lots of destruction and killing too, which is not at all what He is about....this is Psalm 120, and it is but one example of many ...The Judgement will fall!

Blessings forever to all

Andy Pratt, musician

Psalm 120

A Song of Ascents.

1 In y trouble I cried to the LORD,

And He answered me.

Deiver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips,

From a deceitful tongue.

3 What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you,

You deceitful tongue?

4 Sharp arrows of the warrior,

With the burning coals of the broom tree.

5 Woe is me, for I sojourn in Meshech,

For I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

6 Too long has my soul had its dwelling

With those who hate peace.

7 I am for peace, but when I speak,

They are for war.

"Yeah, well Obama is a Marxist"

Joan Walsh and Bill O'Reilly should get married.

They can both ignore Cynthia McKinney being held as a hostage and POW by Israel, while seeing who can be the best scold about others moral and intellectual failings.

Uhm, Shellouise...

My reply to Bigguns was also a parody intended to augment the parody in Bigguns’ post.

The whole Wacko summary thing was reflective of the RW troll droppings we’d seen in earlier posts.

Peace, out!

@hunthorse: Bush's fault! (death of the USD, the rise of that barbaric relic)

I think you need to look at a long term currency or gold chart, like at www.stockcharts.com (try $GOLD). Gold bottomed out at the beginning of Bush's term after a decades long bear market, and then went up about 5 times. That's just the facts, baby.

The major decline of the dollar also happened during 43's term of office. The big question is can Obama help to turn this around. Not exactly holding my breath, but you should know it's really easy to look stuff up.

It's Over! Thanks for Waking Me

Can we get back to the people of substance and integrity that warrant our attention? I am in awe of most who are willing to devote themselves to public service. It takes intelligence, grit, patience, vision and the ability to withstand incredible scrutiny. No more sissies, please!

Palin is more subtle than you think

First: Sahrah Palin did something quite noble in resigning. Her "point-guard" metaphor was exact and precise. Her lightning-rod role which she assumed when she accepted McCain's offer to be the VP camdidate on his ticket -- combined with the very force of her pesonality -- insured that Alaska's best interests would not be served by her remaining as governor. Alaska will now be out of the spotlight and can get back to the business of just being a state no longer having a nationally-controversial lightning rod as governor.

Second: From the moment that John McCain conceded defeat on November fourth she became a woman of destiny. She understands this. It's all about 2012. And continuing on a governor under those circumstances was bound to be a dead-end street both for Alaska and for herself. Go and re-read all aspects of her point-guard metaphor. It had a layer of subtlety about it that the left has totally missed.

Third: Did you not notice the intensity of the crowds she attracted during her campaign? They were there only secondarily for John McCain. Sarah is the promise of the future for a sizable portion of the American base. She will go into the Republican primaries of 2012 as the leading contender and, paradoxically, as an Obamaesque figure bringing a new future to the Republican party.

Fourth: There is better than a fifty per cent chance that the Obama Administration will be seen as a disaster by the end of 2010. I am speaking of what will be seen as disasterous foreign policy combined with a corrosive inflation which will emerge from the unprecedented deficit spending he is engaging in. But the Democrats will be stuck wih him. Getiing rid of Johnson was one things. Getting rid of the first Black President is another. Nor will Obama give way as Johnson did.

Fifth: She will beat Obama by about six percentage points. Hillary will go into a deep depression.

Deconstructing Palin

Please, I cannot watch the video again of this painful, torturous, public, voyeurism into a mind deconstructing and decompensating. I wish I could say this is the end of having to hear about her or read about her. But, it is only just beginning: book tours, speeches, etc. UNLESS, someone who really cares about her got a formal diagnosis for her and suggested she is not fit for all of this public scrutiny. As for a 2012 run for President, it would be hard to sell a quitter, someone who could not stick it out as a lame duck to see the people who elected her through some difficult times for THEM.

Maybe she has been doing some Republican sparking, has crossed those boundaries, and found a soulmate probably with that other Grand Secessionist who is never more than an arm's distance away from her at mutual public events, and who has a leering, lusting look on his face everytime he is around her....if that is fact and it is disclosed, I will be forever grateful to her for our being able to dump that Governor, too!

The Anchorage Daily News reports there may be criminal indictments coming to her and her husband for channeling business contracts to the same contractor who built their big home on Lake Lucille.

Maybe, they just decided she could not go anywhere in higher office and they all decided to sell her in other ways to build their capital worth, make money for the family, you know? She's got a head start with that book deal, don't ya know.

She will always be the darling of her base, unless some Sparking is exposed. But, short of a take over by these right wingers, she will never get very far. I have said all along that there are some very serious concerns regarding her personality. I have said that she has a serious personality disorder, in addition to being uneducated, incurious, and lazy except for as it pertains to her engrandizement and, to that end, we can expect more hateful, slanderous filth coming from that lipstick painted mouth of her's.
