Sarah Palin resigning as Alaska governor

The Wasilla soap opera just gets weirder as Palin complains critics are "picking apart a good point guard"

The letters thread is now closed.

@Bigguns

“Sarah's gonna beat all you commie libs to a bloody pulp. In the meantime, to help her along, we're going to turn the amber plains of grain into scorched earth.

God bless America.

Over and out.”

Nice RW wacko summary. One minor nit to pick…

You left out the creepy and ominous “Hide and watch”.

As Dubya would say, "Bring 'em on!"

Let's hope William Kristol is right. This unhinged airhead would make an ideal Republican party presidential candidate. She'd help Barack Obama set an all-time record for landslide victories, with a likely 80% Obama to 20% Palin outcome.

Sorry, C. Mosby.

You're right. It belonged. And it is creepy.

I should have also added this P.S.:

"We torture for the tortured Jesus! Amen!!! And we will torture you too so that you can understand the love of our PERSONAL lord and savior."

Now, where do I get one of those personal gods?

Too funny

I think this is a misunderstanding. Many people comment on the complexity of Palin's sentences.

-- RobinS

(Snicker) That is funny. Too true. Very complex sentences, and paragraphs, in her resignation. But I suppose shaggy dogs are appropriate in Alaska.

@2Reader we should finish the story about Siddhartha

Hesse's book is a re-telling of the story of the Buddha. First Siddartha starts out as an ascetic who renounces the world. He decides that it is B.S, and showings the head Ascetic he has mastery of that path. Then he hangs out with a courtesan and gets laid a lot. He has success (mastery) in the business world, but ultimately determines that it is B.S. as well, just as the Courtesan always knew he would. Ultimately there is the Banyan Tree, for which I have nothing to say.

Thus the middle way, which is neither this nor that. If Palin is on this path, it must take a Siddhi master to tell. It's beyond your (not) humble Fester. I must ponder this over BBQ.

Siddhartha sez I can think, I can wait, I can fast. What does Palin say?

P.S. We may not agree, but I appreciate the attempt at civil discourse, an essential attribute of civilization.

Palin

"honorable","higher calling","good point guard":is Palin joining a basketball team? I don't think this woman is a narcissist,I think she is paranoid."Politics of personal destruction".That is a laugh coming from the woman who tossed around accusations like "palling around with terrorists & socialist"(which I am sure she does not know the true meaning of)at Obamma.By the way, accusations like that reflect on his family, intentionally.Palin really is a case. A true Joan of Arc in her own minds eye.She doesn't give a rip about Ak. Every thing that she does is calculated & about her own unbridled ambition. These "frivolous accusations" she refers to, have not been so frivolous. She just re-paid Ak.for billing the state for unauthorized family travel. That is not frivolous,it's called a crime of entitlement.Stay tuned. Disclosures on ethical violations by palin are not done.More will be revealed.

I don't blame her

The far left media and web sites like this one, are terrified of Palin. This is why the Progressives in the know (the the majority of clueless Obama supporters), are obssessed with destroying her by any means possible. The far left, eugenics supporting, control freak Progressives, like President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, etc,.etc,, know that the soon the "jig will be up". Unlike their ignorant and deluded followers, these disingenuous politicians are aware of fact, know history and understand that the ridiculous policies they have been jamming down the throats of the American Citizenry unremittingly, at record speed, will fail miserably to accomplish what they promised. In turn, the pendulum will swing and all of these bozos will be out of power soon. It happens all of the time. Jimmy Carter was a similiar imbecile. Clinton, wasn't as bad, for he was handcuffed, given that the Congress and Senate which were both controlled by Republicans.

@Uncle Fester

You remember Siddhartha better than me. I really didn't like the story, because it seemed like the protagonist abandoned his children so he could go back to his self-centered meditation. The book, you might say, was ahead of its time.

I don't normally quote Bay Buchanan, but she said something interesting on CNN several weeks ago, during another Palin moment. "She plays a very exciting, high stakes game," she said.

The last two days have been like watching a close basketball game for me. But the victory is really just seeing Sarah Palin and her family happy, and doing well. In that respect, I hope and think she's going to win.

@Rational.Dialogue -- Doesn't matter how many states Sarah gets

just so she wins. Reagan didn't have alternative media so he was bashed and Carter was the fair-haired boy in '80.

Wasn't till '84 that Ronaldo Magnus won 49 states; Mondale won his home state.

As Ben Stein says, Baracky has a fundamental dislike of captitalism.

A fundamental distrust of freedom.

A fundamental distrust of individual rights.

And calls him a doctrinaire liberal with a capital L.

I call him a Marxist.

@joejoe

Don't know if you're still reading, but thanks.

Saturday, July 4, 2009 04:37 PM

Palin was fine when her party was in power

but now she's come apart under the stress a Letterman joke.

Saturday, July 4, 2009 04:37 PM

@Rational.Dialogue -- O'Bama has lots of time to wreak havoc

on the economy. And the party in power with a lousy economy loses.

Clinton enjoyed the Republican economy in '96.

Plus Clinton governed as a centrist and tried to balance the budget, not treble it.

Baracky is determined to wreck the economy, bring us to our knees energy-wise. All in the interest of control.

But the revolution starts in '10.

Saturday, July 4, 2009 04:38 PM

Will the Last Republican

remember to turn out the lights?

Thanks.

Obama landslide 2012.

Saturday, July 4, 2009 04:39 PM

if this is the kick-off to 2010

will all the other Republicans be quitting also?

Saturday, July 4, 2009 04:47 PM

@mattielisbon (with a star) -- Make-work projects did not work

for FDR, for Japan, and will never work.

Unemployment was worse end of '30s than at the beginning.

But we do not learn from history.

Let the states fix their own crud.

Just cuz they're stupid enough to let everything crumble.

Does not a national federally-funded project make.

Give back the entrepreneurial spitit and let it work.

Saturday, July 4, 2009 04:50 PM

Heh

--[Barack has:] A fundamental distrust of freedom.

--A fundamental distrust of individual rights.

--And calls him a doctrinaire liberal with a capital L.

--I call him a Marxist.

Heh. So, Barack Obama is going to murder tens of thousands of political opponents and murder or send to concentration camps millions of ordinary citizens? And he's going to dictate the allocation of raw materials, and dictate to all our industries how much of each product to produce? Please, don't just write "I call him a Marxist" and leave it at that; tell us every bit of your theories. We all need to know your thinking, terkoy. The better we know your thinking, the better we'll be able to decide whether it's true and how threatening Obama is. What is your evidence that Obama will institute a Marxist regime here in the USA?

Without such evidence, we'll all just be dribbling our lips at you going "B_B_B_B_B_B, *ding* cuckoo! *ding* cuckoo!", at the idea that Barack Obama is busy instituting a regime that will in any serious way resemble Josef Stalin's. Too many of us are already certain that your thinking is so flimsily developed, that your declarations are far too insubstantial to take seriously.

Obama is Stalin. You make your party look ridiculous, you know. Keep going, we're benefiting from it.
