The Wasilla soap opera just gets weirder as Palin complains critics are "picking apart a good point guard"

The letters thread is now closed.

Leave your boys a legacy, divorce and run for office yourself.

Ditch the creep and run for office yourself. Your boys will then have a good legacy to aspire.

Why in anyone's mind would you stick with a liar who is and will always be mooning about another Soul Mate and love story.

It would be one thing if he was out with hookers, but he is 'in love'.

@-- normbreyfogle

Now THAT is really sad. Glad you think so highly of the C-word. I'll bet the ladies find you enthralling.

Nut job quits on us...... finally!

I just can't stop the laughter over this quitter. Who wrote the deluded diatribe she so wittingly slung from that contentious mouthpiece of hope for her party? Having just ditched any future chance in the political arena, now would be a grand time to simply fade away. Joan and Palin future interview/debate will be sorely missed. She now has plenty of time to write the Sarah Palin book, after she learns to read one first.

Deja Vu

Sarah Palin loves herself too much to be doing this. Stepping down from the governor's office would be totally out of character. I think there is a different script about to be played out.

Sarah is upset that the death of Michael Jackson has displaced her as a source of front page news. She is resorting to the same lame trickery employed by Rush Limbaugh several years ago when he went on the air to lament that his hearing was disappearing and, that soon (He actually gave a date) he would never be able to hear the sound of his voice again. Then all of a sudden a miracle happens and Rush is cured and can soldier on in the name of conservatism everywhere.

Sarah resigns and then right before the effective date comes out with a statement along the lines of "The people of Alaska have begged me to stay on and fight their fight, so I will not be stepping down after all," or some nonsense to that effect.

Stay tuned.

Hot house flower

Palin was a hot-house flower, governing a state awash in oil money and federal assistance -- when suddenly a very misguided John McCain dragged her into the harsh sunlight of national politics. She wasn't ready for it, didn't have the sense or self-awareness to say, "No, thank you." Now, what little she had is gone. She probably wouldn't have done Alaska any real harm, could've served a couple of terms, even gotten herself elected as a senator from that empty state -- and never would've had to go through the humiliation of admitting she simply doesn't have the horsepower to play in the big leagues. Too bad, Sarah, you should've stayed in the hot-house.

If Bill Kristol thiks she is, she isn't.

If Bill Kristol thinks she's running, then I have to believe she isn't, because when has Bill Kristol been right about *anything*.

Honestly, I have not idea why anyone even bothers to ask his opinion, he's a fool.

@RenMan53,Raise Up,tailwind

"Conservatives criteria for President is very limited to whether the person running is a fundamentalist Christian and against abortion and Gays! Brains???? They aren't remotely interested. Most of us liberals hope she runs. That will be a shoe in for Obama!"

-- tailwind

Most of us Conservatives and Libertarians could give a crap about anyone being a fundamentalist Christain, whether you get an abortion,or if you are pro or anti gay. Read the definition of the term libertarian and individual choice and freedom with limited government is what we're all about and have been for generations. Republican Identification is 21%,Democrat ID is hovering around 30% now but has steadily dropped since Obama took office. People identifying themselves as Independants are at 40% and growing. What planet you're living on eludes me.Well.. Hey you believe driving SUV's has increased our planet's temperature and threaten it. You're one of the easily fooled. Global warming contributors needing to be capped to save us all!!! They are such a threat that they apparently increased the temperatures on Mars,Jupiter and Pluto as well. Those car exhaust sure get around the universe don't they?. June 2009, one of the coldest on record, oh yeah the scam changed it to "climate change " since temps started on a cooling cycle again, I forgot. Still the consensus of known science say man's impact on global is warming negligible compared to what happens due the effects of phenomenon on the sun's surface . Al Gore's theories fail to address or explain the corresponding increases and decreases with our nieghboring planets. Liberal rationale, Al said it so it must be true.

The liberal attack machine made a huge mistake, they empowered Sarah Palin by making her a celebrity. Maybe another Governor quitting may have been his end but the liberal attack hounds insured she will have a voice. They would not let her continue as Governor without continuing to harass her. One important thing is liberals must now still expend the energy to stop her Alaskan agenda from progressing and her agenda looks like it all will be implimented. She decided to kick it up a notch, better done not under the limitations of holding office and she gets what she wanted for the state anyway. Sarah Palin a strong one willing to say what most Republicans have not had the testicular fortitude to say up to this point. There is nobody that doubts the powerful effect she had with the McCain Caimpaign drawing crowds. She will continue to be a Rock Star and a thorn to the progressive agenda.

"Sarah Palin You sniveling, whiny narcissist. The only people who care what you think are losers and fools. The rest of America - the majority - is tired of you."

-- RenMan53

If the majority of Americans were tired of her this article would have about 4 posts not well over 400 on a holiday week end. I think it appears her appeal to regular americans of all walks of life, along with the continued overreaching, excessive spending, and continuing failures of Obama scare you. She's a threat to the Progressive agenda of liberal Democrats and blue blood country club Republicans both. Hang on to your hats and enjoy the show. Jimmy Obama Carter meet your Ronald Reagan.
